Jos 24:1-13; Psalm 136:1-3, 16-18, 21-24; Matthew 19:3-12

to fields
not our own
you guide us
with a mercy
not of our understanding
cloaked
in the mystery
of your love
we choose
a joining
for your sake
alone
or with
another
to awaken us
to your Presence

What have you chosen?

Jos 3:7-17; Psalm 114:1-6; Matthew 18:21-19:1

mercy
opening
the seemingly
impossible path
we enter
to a promised land
where all
is forgiven
and we live
in the heart
of God’s
boundless love
heeding
his warning
and
giving
freely
what we
have received

Do you give as you have been given?
Forgive and you have been forgiven?

Dt 31:1-8; Dt 32:2-12; Matthew 18:1-5, 1-14

be
as a child
of wonder
and awe
knowing
your need
and take
the hand
of wisdom
guided away
from lost
wanderings
to a path
that leads
to love
a promised land
that breathes
its Truth
into
our being

Do you take the hand of Wisdom?

2Cor 9:6-10; Psalm 112:1-9; John 12:24-26

generously
we sow
the seed
given
dying
as a grain
of wheat
to an old life
to be born
again
into
a new life
where
the light
of His glory
shines
and we follow
a way
we know
as Truth
built
on the
steadfast heart
of His love

Do you sow your seed generously?

Kings 19:4-8; Psalm 34: 2-9; Ephesians 4:30-5:2, John 6:41-51

suffering and
weary
reaching for death
we are fed
by the bread
of angels
strengthened
we walk to
God’s holy mountain
where we
taste and see
the goodness of the Lord-
hands outstretched
for our
bread of Life
manna of Jesus
we eat
nourished
we release
our bitterness
passion and anger
harsh words
and malice of every kind
we turn to kindness
compassion
forgiveness
and follow the way of love

Do you let yourself be fed by the angels?
Do you let yourself be fed by the bread of life?
Do you release yourself into love?

Dt 6:4-13; Psalm 18:2-4, 47-51; Matthew 17:14-20

a mustard seed
of faith
that moves
the mountain
that blocks
our path
to freedom
in the One
who shows us
all love
and creation
as a mercy
and justice
belonging
to all
people
this we pass on
to our children
a legacy
of love

Do you pass God’s legacy on to your children?

Dt. 4:32-40; Psalm 77:12-21; Matthew 16:24-28

from
the midst
of fire
the white heat
of His voice
call us
to remember
who we are
in God’s wonder
and power
and fix it
in our hearts
to follow
the one
who will
lead us
and our children
home
to peace

Have you heard His voice in the midst of fire?

Dn 7:9-10,13-14; Psalm 97:1-2,5-6,9; 2Peter 1:16-19; Mark 9:2-10

as the day
dawns
and the
morning star
rises
in our hearts
we see
the light
of who
we are
one
with Him
in God’s glory
a gift
of awe
and wonder
of a love
and power
beyond
our imagining
that no word
or thought
can capture

Do you see the transforming light?

Numbers 13:1-2,25-14:1,26-29,34-35; Psalm 106:6-7,13-14,21-23;
Matthew 15:21-28

praying
into a power
greater
than ourselves
pleading
for mercy
for those
who have
turned away
given into
cravings
forgotten
who they are
who have
become
possessed
having faith
in a
compassionate God
healing comes
the tide
is turned
and the people
are saved

Do you have faith in a compassionate God?

Numbers 12:1-13; Psalm 51:3-13; Matthew 15:1-2,10-14

blinded
by our own
vision
of what is
we give
birth to
deceit
and lead
others
astray
yet
in mercy
we are
found
and renewed
born
into the
pure heart
of God
while
all that is
not of God
is uprooted
and we
are free

Have you been found in God’s mercy?
