Acts 20:28-38; Psalm 68:29-36; John 17:11-19

consecrated
In Truth
we see God’s love
a Light shining
through All that is
awakened
we see the Oneness
Of All
living
breathing
one heart beat
one breath

separate only
in delusion
creating the chaos
of greed
we descend
into war
in ourselves
and with one another
or we turn to
God’s saving power
of peace
knowing it is better
to give
than to receive

Do you turn to God’s saving power of peace?

Acts 20: 17-27; Psalm 68: 10-21; John 17: 1-11

our saving God
who breathes
our breath
who controls
the passageways
of life and death
gives meaning to us
through love
and grace
the powers
of the world
will fade
yet God’s word
is eternal
even though
we have tears
and trials
we will not shrink
with the Holy Spirit
as our guide
and enter God’s joy

What gives your life meaning?

John 15:12
Love one another as I love you.

Fall in Love
Attributed to Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J. (1907–1991)

Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.

What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination,
will affect everything.

It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read,
whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.

Fall in Love,
stay in love,
and it will decide everything.

Acts 1.15-17, 20a-26;Ps.103: 1-2, 11-12, 19-20; 1 John 4.11-16; John 17.11b-19

the void
of the betrayer
filled by one
who can see
the love
poured out
from a God
who is love
our protection
prayed for
by one
who knows
while we allow
this love
this truth
to transform
our fragile lives
in a world
that would betray
in a world of power
that may hate
who we are
as we stand
in His truth
for the sake
of love

Do you dare to be hated for the love you believe in?
Where is your love?

Acts 18: 23-28; Psalm 47: 2-10; John 16: 23-28

you say
until now
we have not
asked anything
in your name
you say
ask
the father
in my name
and you will receive
so that your joy may be complete

 so i ask
for the end of war
and hate
and violence
and sin
and suffering
and death and grief
exploitation
of one another
through slavery
and human trafficking
and greed and lust
and the end of
racism and sexism
and guns and weapons
that kill and destroy
we ask you
in Jesus name
we ask for love and peace. Amen

Acts 18: 9-18; Psalm 47: 2-7; John 16:20-23

all labor pain
is forgotten
in the joy
of new life
as a woman
beholds
her baby
the miracle of
I am
do not be afraid
go on speaking
do not be silent
I am
with you…

Is your pain forgotten in the joy of new life?

Acts: 1: 1-11; Psalm 46: 2-9; Eph. 1: 17-23; 4: 1-13; Mark 16: 15-20

the eyes
of our heart
enlightened
we see
our unity
of Spirit
our bond
of peace
a surpassing power
above every
principality
authority
and dominion
we go
and proclaim
the Good News
of Love
among us
raising us
with Him
to new heights
of Glory

Have your eyes seen the glory of the Lord?

Acts: 17:15, 22-18:1, Psalm 148: 1-14; John 16: 12-15

turn
your heart
and mind
to the one
in whom
we live
and have
our being
given
breath
and life
and every thing
not fashioned
in any image
of our hand
or imagination
but in love
incarnate
that flows
eternal

Who owns your breath?

Acts 16:22-34; Psalm 138: 1-8; John 16: 5-11

even as grief
fills
our heart
and prison
surrounds us
we come
to know
a greater love
a greater freedom
than the world
can give
a Presence given
a Spirit that informs
as love is given
and received
we are strengthened
and give thanks

When you called were you answered?

Acts 16:11-15; Psalm 149: 1-9; John 15: 26-16:4

advocate
Spirit of Truth
sent to us
guiding us
from our beginning
strengthening us
that we will
not fall away
even as persecution
comes from
those who say
they know God
we stay
with your peace
indwelling
and sing the song
of our heart
in praise
of your love

What is the song of your heart?
