Joshua 24:1-2;, 15-18; Psalm 34: 2-3, 9, 16-21; Eph 5: 21-32; John 6:60-69

Holy Spirit
that gives us life
we rise
from flesh
to follow
our one true God
of love
who is close to
our broken hearts
who rescues us
in our distress
our bones
shall not
be broken
even in our suffering
we are loved
and we love
in ways
we could not imagine
this great mystery
of Christ
God’s love
alive within us
eternal

Do you feel God with you in your time of sorrow?
Do you follow the God of love?

Ruth 2:1=3,8-11,4:13-17; Psalm 128:1b-5; Matthew 23:1-12

calling
no one master
but Him
the Christ
we follow
His ways
servant to all
with the goodness
we have found
in God
practicing
each moment
what we hear
in His word
actions
born of Truth
producing
fruits
of kindness
and compassion
to a world
in desperate
need

Who do you call master?
How do you act on His words?

Ruth 1:1,3-6,14-16,22; Psalm 146:5-10; Matthew 22:34-40

you who
open our eyes
raise us up
and protect us
give us hope
and love
wherever we go
you go
wherever we live

you live

we live

this love
with heart
and soul
and mind
what is received
is given
freely
on this justice
all else depends

Have your eyes been opened to God’s love?
Do you love with your whole mind, heart, and soul?

Jgs 11:29-39; Psalm 40:5-10; Mt 22:1-14

making no vow
but to love God
with our whole heart
our whole soul
our whole mind
we accept the invitation
to live within
the realm of grace

in the garment of joy
and praise
coming to do
God’s will
for love
not offering sacrifice
or burnt offerings
but mercy
kindness
and compassion?

What vow do you make?

Judges 9:6-15; Psalm 21:2-7; Matthew 20:1-16

knowing
who we are
serving
our purpose
we have
no need
to dominate
or threaten
or be envious
we are fulfilled
in God’s justice
God’s love for all
our hearts
are opened
to God’s word
that is living
and effective
able to discern
the reflections
and thoughts
of our heart
bringing us
home

How does God work in your heart?
Are you fulfilling life’s purpose?

Ezekiel 28:1-10; Dt 32:26-30; 35-36; Matthew 19:23-30

leaving
all attachment
images
and possessions
we pass
unburdened
through
the eye of the needle
impossible
on our own
we enter
the possibilities
of God
where each moment
turns
towards
the light
knowing
and beholding
the transforming
beauty
and Glory
of God

Can you let go of all you think you need?
What do you find?

Judges 2:11-19; Psalm 106:34-44; Matthew 19:16-22

letting go
of all
that possesses us
we see
our treasure
in heaven
the heart
of God’s
goodness
come to earth
in a love
that is in
yet beyond
his commands
calling us
from idolatrous
ways
to a Truth
that feeds
and sustains us

What possesses you?
What sustains you?

The Assumption of Mary
Luke 11:27-28

seeking
our blessing
we find her
the one who listens
to God
with all of her heart
all of her soul
and all of her mind
offering
her body
to give birth
to love
one who knows
the way
guides our own “yes”
to the word of God
our soul
proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
with her

Who guides your “yes” to God?
What is your part in God’s sacred story?

Jos 24:14-29; Psalm 16:1-11; Matthew 19:13-15

with the trust
of children
exuberant
and innocent
we place
our faith
in God
shown to us
through Christ
and His love
forsaking
deceit
and delusion
allowing
what is true
within us
to live
into the path of life

How do you find Truth?

Jos 24:1-13; Psalm 136:1-3, 16-18, 21-24; Matthew 19:3-12

to fields
not our own
you guide us
with a mercy
not of our understanding
cloaked
in the mystery
of your love
we choose
a joining
for your sake
alone
or with
another
to awaken us
to your Presence

What have you chosen?
Have you awakened to God’s presence in your life?
