Col1:1-8; Psalm 52:10-11; Luke 4:38-44

in our sickness
He reaches
out His hand
and we
are healed
stepping back
into our life
we give thanks
and proclaim
God’s goodness
and presence
among us
trusting
always
in the mercy
of God

Do you trust in the mercy of God?

1Thess 5:1-6,9-11; Psalm 27: 1,4, 12-14; Luke 4:31-37

with the wisdom
of no escape
we embrace
this moment
where the light
of Christ
reveals
the eternal love
of God
expelling demons
we live
all our days
within God’s courage
his presence
the source of all
goodness

What is the wisdom of no escape?
How have you been shown God’s mercy?

1Thess 4:13-18; Psalm 96:1,2,4-13; Luke 4:16-30

hope
beyond death
in God’s Spirit
we long to be raised up
leaving
our fears
and anxieties
knowing
a God
who reveals
a Holy Spirit
even in the ordinary
in the day to day
praying
to be graced with
ears to hear
and eyes
to see
God’s love
in All

How do you see God’s love?
In what do you hope?
What is your longing?

Dt. 4:1-2, 6-8; Psalm 15: 1-3; James 1:17-18, 21-22, 27, Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23

planted within our heart
we hear the truth
the ancient law of Moses
beating within us
giving life
we do God’s justice
in love of all
purified from within
our soul fed
we are saved
from the evil
ways of
greed and malice
deceit and envy
arrogance and harm
reaching out
to widow
and orphan
to the abandoned–
we abandon
ourselves
to God
becoming doers
not hearers only
of His word

Do you cling to human tradition or do you hear God’s word and act on it?

1Thes 4:9-11; Psalm 98:1,7-9; Matthew 25:14-30

taught by God
with the justice
of love
we share
what has been given us
through grace
aspiring to
work and live
a peaceful life
within God’s presence
even as we struggle
with our fears
and anxieties
we embrace the light
of God’s love
that is always there

Do you allow the light of God’s presence in?
How do you share God’s light and love?

1Thes 4:1-8; Psalm 97: 1-2; 5-6, 10-12; Matthew 25:1-13

we wait
keeping
all that
is essential
for life
in you
our living
flame
of love
burning
in a purity
not our own

letting go of anger
and fear
we live
in a holiness
that rejoices
in glory
never
knowing
the hour
or the day
creating
an ever-presence
of your love

What is the oil you cannot share?
How do you wait for his coming?

stay awake
stand firm
in faith
let your heart
be strengthen
with God’s love
and sing for joy
at the daybreak
that brings
wisdom
and kindness
through His word
to the world

Are awake to God’s presence in your life?
Do you stand firm in your faith believing in God’s goodness?

1Thes 2:9-13; Psalm 139: 7-12; Matthew 23:27-32

With God
who searches our heart
and knows us
there is
nowhere
to run
or fly
or hide
from God’s love
shining
into
the dark tomb
of us
bringing
Light
to where
there was
none
enlightened
we see
what has
always been
what will
always be
a pure love
and we
lay down
our arms
and live
in God’s mercy
goodness
and kindness

Where do you try to run and hide?
Have you experienced his light shining within you?
Have you laid down your arms?

Rev 21:9-14; Psalm 145:1-18; John 1:45-51

without duplicity
He comes
calling us
to a new way
of seeing
open eyes
and hearts
we leave
our preconceptions
and enter
love’s realm
extending
compassion
and loving-kindness
without reservation
because of the heaven
we have seen
through God’s eyes

Have your eyes been opened?
What do you see?

2Thes 1:1-5,11-12; Psalm 96:1-5; Matthew 23:13-22

flourishing
faith
not dependent
on blind guides
brings forth
the sacred
in all
God’s gifts
not mistaking
the form
for its source
we sing
and bless
God’s awesome
presence
even in our affliction
we know
we are safe
in God’s love
and grace

What does your faith depend on?
What makes the gift of your life sacred?
