Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Acts 13:26-33; Psalm 2:6-11; John 14: 1-6

do not
let your heart
be troubled
you who know
and serve God
who in
humbleness
see the path
set before you
by the one
who came
to save
there is your dwelling place
your home
in goodness
and love

By what is your heart troubled?
Do you see the path set before you?
Where do you find your dwelling place?

Thursday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Acts 13: 13-25; Psalms 89: 2-3, 21-22; 25-27; John 13: 16-20

as morning light
dawns
we sing of
God’s goodness
mercy
and kindness
faithful
even as the earth quakes
and wars ravage
for we know you
and you know us
a presence
among us
calling us
to vigilance
guiding us
to the path
of life
and love
that we seek
heeding your warnings
of betrayal
we stay
with you

Of what goodness do you sing?

Fourth Sunday of Easter

Acts 4.8-12; Ps. 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26,21,19; John 3.1,2; John 10, 11-18)

we build our lives
on this cornerstone
that was rejected
by the world’s power
a foundation
of saving grace
and mercy
laid down
beneath
our crippled lives
we are healed
and hear the voice
the one
who worked
for love
laying down
His life
freely
this love
we will follow
no longer trusting
human frailty
and princes
children of God
we know
who we are
and follow

What is it to hear the voice of God?
To hear the voice of Jesus?
To hear the Holy Spirit?

Thursday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 8: 26-40; Psalm 66:3-20; John 6: 44-51

seeking
an answer
we hear
a name
above all others
that calls
to us
from one
who gives
life to our souls
living bread
eternal vision
Jesus
He says
“follow”
baptized
in his living water
we follow
the Holy Spirit
given as our guide

How do you Understand?
How do we know what you are reading?
Who will instruct you?
