Tuesday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

1Kings 17:7-16; Psalm 4:2-8; Mt 5:13-16

hungry
you feed us
and provide
gladness
into our heart
as your light
shines upon us
a love
and joy
greater than
we could imagine
comes to us
as we allow ourselves
to see your face
in all we do
even as the cares
and darkness
of the world
tries to diminish
your light
it shall not be contained

Do you feel the God’s gladness in your heart?

Monday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Matthew 5:1-12: The Beatitudes

He began to teach them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad,
for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Genesis 3:9-15; Psalm 130:1-8; 2Cor 4:13-5:1; Mark 3:20-35

living in God’s will
for love
God’s love for all
we are not discouraged
even as our
outer self
is wasting away
our inner self
is being renewed
day by day
through prayer
looking not
at what is seen
but the unseen
which is eternal
a love
that lasts
even as all else
may be destroyed
in this
we put our faith
and hope
in this
we live
with joy

Is your inner self renewed day by day through prayer?

Friday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

Hosea 11:1-9; Isaiah 12:2-6; Ephesians 3:8-19; John 19:31-37

called back
to the source
of our Being
we draw water
joyfully
from the springs
of God’s saving grace
and draw strength
from God’s spirit
in our inner self
that Christ may dwell
in our hearts
through faith
that is rooted
and grounded
in love
a love that surpasses
all knowledge

Do you experience the love from the source of your Being?
Are you grounded in this love?

Wednesday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

2Timothy 1:1-3,6-12; Psalm 25: 2-9; Mark 12: 18-27

not through a Spirit
of cowardice
but of power
and love
and self-control
we are given
our lives
as a gift
for goodness

misled
by our culture
we lose sight
of our spiritual nature
we become
discouraged
despairing
in time
ready for death

then
a Light comes
in revelation
drawing us
to Truth
a saving grace
and we see
ourselves
anew
in the realm
of angels

Have you lost sight of your spiritual nature?
