Monday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 9:15,24-28; Psalm 98: 1-6; Mark 3:22-30

Holy Spirit
word of life
making all things new
a song
arises
from our heart
and soul
as we experience
the gifts
of your ways
love
joy
peace
generosity
patience
faithfulness
self-control
we live
within the power
of your being
that sets things right
no one can deny
your Presence
and live
for you are life
itself

Do you live within the power of the Holy Spirit?
How do you know?

Sunday in the Third Week of Ordinary Time

Neh: 2-6; 8-10, Ps 19:8-10, 15; Cor 12:12-30; Luke: 1:1-4, 4:14-21)

one body
made
one spirit
moving
within His ways
our heart beats
our eyes see
our hands hold
His love
passed from one
another
His law enfleshed
our hearts rejoice
His pure sight
enlightens
and weeping
is no more
we feast
with Him
sending portions
to those who
have nothing
setting free
the captives
setting liberty for
the oppressed
this joy of the Lord
is our strength

Is his law alive in your heart?
Can you see with his eyes?
Is his joy your strength?

Friday in the Second Week of Ordinary Time

Hebrews 8: 6-13; Psalm 85: 8-14; Mark 3: 13-19

waiting
and praying
for healing
and new life
to fulfill
His promise
of love
and peace
in our hearts
we are called
to where
truth and kindness
meet
where justice
and peace
are one
sprung
from the earth
showered
from heaven
placed in our heart
the knowledge
of His love
is completed
we go forth
with good news
for all the earth

How do you respond to His call?

Thursday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 7:25-8:6; Psalm 40:7-17; Mark 3:7-12

law written
within my heart
I press my ear
to the sound
of its beating
feeling the pulse
of its steady rhythm
set to the pace
of God’s existence
in me
marveling at
its faithfulness
to my day to day
setting the flow
and pace
of love
in my life
enduring
and pressing back
against all
that would break it
or harden it
thankful
for this sacred chamber
and holy place
of prayer in me

What is written in your heart?
