Wednesday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Ezra 9:5-9; Tobit 13:2-8; Luke 9: 1-6

we take
nothing
for the journey
but God’s love
and faith
walking
in the footsteps
that have gone before us
accepting
hospitality
shaking off the dust
of unwelcome
we walk
humbly
always
in the mercy
that has been shown us
ever mindful
of our need
of God’s wisdom
and strength

Are you mindful of your need for God’s wisdom and strength?

Sunday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 8: 4-7; Psalm 113: 1-8; 1 Timothy 2:1-8; Luke 16: 1-13

God
who lifts up
the poor
break our chains
leading us
to peace
and tranquility
where we see
one another
as One-
not for sale
not for use
but for love
in every
small thing
we work
for God
giving all we have
as we grow to
trust in God
we lift our hand
freed from anger
freed from dissension
free to love

Do we try to buy another or truly give?
Do we try to use another or truly share?
Do we see that we are one in God?
