Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time

Joshua 24:1-2;, 15-18; Psalm 34: 2-3, 9, 16-21; Eph 5: 21-32; John 6:60-69

Holy Spirit
that gives us life
we rise
from flesh
to follow
our one true God
of love
who is close to
our broken hearts
who rescues us
in our distress
our bones
shall not
be broken
even in our suffering
we are loved
and we love
in ways
we could not imagine
this great mystery
of Christ
God’s love
alive within us
eternal

Do you feel God with you in your time of sorrow?
Do you follow the God of love?

Wednesday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time

Judges 9:6-15; Psalm 21:2-7; Matthew 20:1-16

knowing
who we are
serving
our purpose
we have
no need
to dominate
or threaten
or be envious
we are fulfilled
in God’s justice
God’s love for all
our hearts
are opened
to God’s word
that is living
and effective
able to discern
the reflections
and thoughts
of our heart
bringing us
home

How does God work in your heart?
Are you fulfilling life’s purpose?

Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Assumption of Mary
Luke 11:27-28

seeking
our blessing
we find her
the one who listens
to God
with all of her heart
all of her soul
and all of her mind
offering
her body
to give birth
to love
one who knows
the way
guides our own “yes”
to the word of God
our soul
proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
with her

Who guides your “yes” to God?
What is your part in God’s sacred story?
