Wednesday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrew 12:4-7,11-15; PS 103:1-2, 13-14, 17-18A; John 10:27

let no bitter root
spring up
and cause trouble
through which
we may be lead
astray
we strive
for peace
with everyone
from a kindness
that is from eternity
Holy Spirit
provider
and guide
of God’s love
this Presence
this ground
of our being
here we take root
and grow deeply
into our faith
resisting all
that would
uproot us

Has a bitter root sprung up in your heart?
How can it be uprooted?

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Zephaniah 2:3-3:12-13; Psalm 146; 1 Corinthians 1: 26-31; Mt 5: 1-12

seeking
the Lord
seeking
wisdom
we find
what the world
sees
as foolish
lowly
and humble
we know
our need
our blessedness
in hunger
in mourning
in purity
in peace
we turn
from ruin
and enter
the joy
of the
Lord

Where do you seek God?
Where do you seek wisdom?
How do you find blessedness in hunger, in mourning and poverty?

Friday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 10: 32-39; Psalm 37: 3-40; Mark 4: 26-34

we scatter
seeds
in joy
and hope
not knowing
what will come
we labor
in faith
sustained
by the One
who knows
the harvest
never knowing
what suffering
or challenge
may come
even to
our faith
over and over
our daily bread
is to choose life
for ourselves
for others
knowing all
love
and justice
is gift

What challenges your faith?
What calls you to Life?

Wednesday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul
Acts 22:3-16; Psalm 117:1,2; Mark 16:15-18

living
in our delusions
we separate
and persecute
thinking we know
what is right and good
until the Light
of Grace
that reveals
the Truth
of Oneness
and Love
challenges
everything
we have ever believed
setting us free
for new life
living
in peace
and harmony
in God’s Love
This is the Good News.

What light do you see
What do you hear?
