1 John 4: 11-18; Psalm 72: 1-2, 10, 12-13; Mark 6: 45-52

seeking
distant stars

we travel
wanderers
weary of dark
seeking to know…
take
the courage
that is being
offered
to your
hearts
hardened
by misunderstanding
and fear
it will calm
the storm
that surrounds you
and allow you
to hear
the cry
of the poor
and afflicted
and enter
into
his
perfect love

Is your heart hardened to miracles?
Can you accept the courage being offered?
Can you hear the cry of the poor and afflicted?

1John 4: 7-10; Psalm 72: 1-8; Mark 6: 34-44

God’s love
sees our hunger
and our need
and calls
out
to us
that we
might
share
what we have
with another
our little
with
His blessing
becomes
the miracle
of abundance
and we have
more than enough
for all
in His mercy
and love

Do you feel the call of God’s love?
Do you see that your “little” is enough?
What do you have to share?

Isaiah 60.1-6; Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 10-13; Ephesians 3.2, 3, 5, 6; Matt 2.1-12

seeking distant stars
we travel
wanderers
weary of dark
seeking to know
who we are
made in longing
we are needy
poor
as we hunger
for truth
for freedom
oppressed by greed
we know we are more
waiting
longing
watching
biding our time
then other travelers
come
to tell us
the time is here
no longer a distant star
no longer a distant time
the gift has been given
the sight of Him
who inspires
an open heart
we open
to a love
beyond the boundaries
of what we have known
first
God within us
then
among us
in each other
even into the boundaries
of our enemy
“then you shall be
radiant in what you see
your heart shall throb and overflow”

What is your treasure that you would give?

1John 2: 29-3:6; Psalm 98: 1-6; John 1: 29-34

a Holy Spirit
descends
upon the one
who will save
with love
showing us
a way
of knowing
we are
not separate
living
in accord
with God’s goodness
we are freed
from the burden
of lawlessness
we sing
joyfully
as all
our hopes
are fulfilled
in the purity
of God’s love

Are your hopes fulfilled in God’s goodness and love?
For what purpose were you born?

1John 2: 22-28; Psalm 98; 1-4; John 1: 19-28

a voice
in the wilderness
of our hearts
calling us
to a path
set straight
to the Lord
all lies
and deceptions
fall away
as pure love
is revealed
anointed
in the light
of Christ
we sing for joy
for what
we have seen
freedom
from all
that would harm us
we trust
completely
in the one
who saves

Are you lead by the light of Christ?
Do you hear the voice in the wilderness of your heart?
Do you see Christ even in his distressing disguise?

Numbers 6: 22-27; Psalm 67: 2-8; Gal 4: 4-7; Luke 2: 16-21

into our hearts
the Spirit
of His Son
is sent
that we may
know
who we are
children
and heirs
to love
the one who blesses
is gracious
and kindly
He shines
His face
upon us
and gives us
peace
a mother
knows
and ponders
what has been given
she gives
what has been given her
and we are saved
not by the law
but by love

Do you experience His face shining upon you?
Do you feel blessed?
Do you accept His love and peace?

1John 2: 18-21; Psalm 96: 1-13; John 1:1-18

the trees
exult
the heavens
are glad
the sea
resounds
the plains
are joyful
we sing
our joy
before the Lord
for truth
has come
into the world
foretold by one
who knows
the hour
all lies
and darkness
pass away
as what was
from the beginning
emerges
in light
and we know
who we are

Do you hear the earth rejoice?
Do you sing your joy?

1John 2:12-17; Psalm 96: 7-10; Luke 2: 36-40

enticed
by a world
that is
passing away
we are called
to another
love
deeper
and lasting
holder
of God’s will
and wisdom
God’s love
for all
we are
forgiven
we know Him
our hearts
give glory
and praise
and reverence
as all that we
have spent
our lives for
in prayer
and fast
appears

Do you recognize Him?
How do you know Him?

1Jn 2: 3-11; Psalm 96: 1-6, Luke 2: 22-35

a sword
will pierce
our heart
revealing
a love
poured out to us
by God
that takes away
the lie
and darkness
of the hatred
of another
and allows
the truth
and light
of salvation
to shine
Holy Spirit
upon us
all we have
waited for
is here
we rejoice
and sing
of God’s love
our heart
at peace

Have you received what you have longed for?
Do you experience His light and love in your heart?

Does Christ’s peace reign in your heart?
