Acts 12:24-13:5; Psalm 67:2-8; John 12:44-50

responding to
the longing
of nations
for peace
and light
and love
we are sent forth
by the Holy Spirit
spreading
and growing
God’s love
and compassion
across the earth
to those
who are ready
for a way
out of the darkness
of war
and deceit
by placing
our trust in God
and Truth

How do you spread God’s love and compassion?

Acts 11:19-26; Psalm 87:1-7; John 10:22-30

with firmness
of heart
we put all
of our faith
in God
trusting in
the love
that is calling us
we welcome
every moment
as God’s grace
and let go
of our own programs
for happiness
and listen to
His voice

What are your programs for happiness?
What are God’s?

Acts 11:1-18; Psalm 42:2-4; John 10:11-18

dreams
and vision
open our minds
to all that is
of God
nothing created
is profane
but ill intent–
with our soul
in longing
we lay down our lives
for what we love
and take them up again
living
in the joy
of the living God

Will we listen to what dreams may come?
What is your dream?

Acts 2: 14: 36-41; Psalm 23: 1-6; 1 Peter 2: 20-25; John 10: 1-10

we hear
his voice
we turn
and know
the way
guardian
of our souls
we follow
paths to life
safe
from those
that would
steal our life
we are given
safe passage
verdant pasture
restful waters
even in darkness
we have no fear
for courage
guides us
goodness
and kindness
follow us
passing through
the cross gate
we leave
behind
all that is called sin
and enter
God’s will
that is love

Do you hear and know his voice?
Do you follow?

Acts 9:31-42; Psalm 116:12-17; John 6:60-69

leaving all
anxiety
we go forth
into this new life
we have come to know
as the peace of Christ
a serenity
the world cannot give
lifted up
by the Holy Spirit
we are given
all we need
and ask
how shall we return
all the good
that has been shown us?

How shall we return all the good that has been shown us?

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to Spirit
being touched
deeply
by the Other
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
whole

Have you experienced a bright light of awareness of your place in God?

Acts 8:26-40; Psalm 66:8-20; John 6:44-51

in stillness
His words
come to us
reminding us
of the Spirit
that guides
relieving the anxiety
of day to day
by providing
what we need
strength
courage
fortitude
and peace
keeping our minds
and hearts fixed
we will not lose our way

Do you allow the stillness to speak?

1Cor 15:1-8; Psalm 19:2-5; John 14:6-14

day pours out
the word to day
night to night
imparts knowledge
our Creator seen
through the Glory
of Light
with eyes beholding
creation’s Beauty
speak the Truth
of God’s Love
a voice resounding
to the ends
of the earth
to every ear
opened to hear
the heart receives
the blessing
of morning

Are you open to the blessing of morning?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
withing the worlds’ chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life

yet a stilled heart
opens
to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
our ignorance forgiven
we are given
refuge
shelter
and new life
in Him

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6:22-29

we see
within
our daily bread
into eternity
for our soul’s nourishment
enduring life
giving all
we receive all
in the Truth
revealed
following
His precepts
meditating on
wondrous deeds
our lives are given
meaning
hope
and love
beyond
what we could ever imagine

What do you see within your daily bread?
