Kings 19:4-8; Psalm 34:2-9; Eph 4:30-5:2; John 6:41-51

suffering
and weary
reaching for death
we are fed
by the bread
of angels
strengthened
we walk to
God’s holy mountain
where we
taste and see
the goodness of the Lord

hands outstretched
for our bread of Life
manna of Jesus
we eat
and our nourished
releasing
our bitterness
passion and anger
harsh words
and malice of every kind
we turn to compassion
and forgiveness
following the way of love

Do you let yourself be fed by the bread of angels?
Do you let yourself be fed by the bread of life?
Do you release yourself into love?

Feast of St. Lawrence
2Cor 9:6-10; Psalm 112:1-9; John 12:24-26

generously
we sow
the seed
given
dying
as a grain
of wheat
to an old life
to be born
again
into
a new life
where
the light
of His glory
shines
and we follow
a way
we know
as Truth
built
on the
steadfast heart
of His love

Do you sow your seed generously?

Jeremiah 31:31-34; Psalm 51: 12-19; Matthew 16:13-23

a new heart
created
renewed
and steadfast
with a willing Spirit
to guide
no longer subject
to cultural whim
but living
with God’s
love
compassion
and Truth
within

Do you experience God within your heart?

Jeremiah 31:1-7; Jeremiah 31:10-13; Matthew 15:21-28

persisting
in our pleading
our faith
carries us
deeper
into
His healing love
where we
are heard
for the love
we carry
for our families
and friends
and enemies
we build
our lives
around this
as the Holy Spirit
guides us
and our mourning
is turned
into joy

Are you feel heard by God?
Are you persistent in prayer?

Jer 30:-2, 12-22; Psalm 102:16-23; Mt 13:22-36

from the mountaintop
of prayer
you come
to us
in troubled waters
and lift us up
above the storm
into a love
that has the power
to carry us
and calm the sea
as long
as we
are not afraid

What do you do with your fear?

The Feast of the Transfiguration
Dn 7:9-10,13-14; Psalm 97:1-2,5-6,9; 2Peter 1:16-19; Mark 9:2-10

as the day
dawns
and the morning star
rises
in our hearts
we see
the light
of who
we are
one
with Him
in God’s glory
a gift
of awe
and wonder
of a love
and power
beyond
our imagining
that no word
or thought
can capture

Do you see the transforming light?

Ex: 16:2-4,12-15; Ps 78: 3-4,23-25, 54; Ephesians 4: 17, 20-24; John 6: 24-35

our daily
bread
sent down
from heaven
feeds
our heart
and minds
the spiritual food
that we
might grow
into a new creation
laying aside
our former
way of life
lived in
illusion
that we
may see
the Truth
through God’s
divine love
sent to save us
and feed us

Are God’s words food for your Spirit?

Jeremiah 26:11-15,24; Psalm 69:15-16,30-31,33-34; Matthew 14:1-12

some are spared
and some
are not
even in
their righteousness
we are subject
to the hands
that hold us
yet in the hands
of God’s great love
our soul
is safe
for no Truth
dies with death
and we stand firm
within God’s Presence

Are you safe in the great love of God?

Jeremiah 26:1-9; Psalm 69:5,8-10,14, John 11:19-27

in God’s great love
our prayers
are answered
constantly
sending
guidance
through
the Holy Spirit
prophets
and priests
saved
from our sin
suffering
and death
zeal for His house
consumes us
as we spread
the good news
of God’s love

Do you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, prophets and priests?
Does zeal for His house consume you?

Jeremiah 18:1-6; Psalm 146: 1-2,3-4,5-6; Matthew 13:47-53

in God’s hands
we are clay
fashioned
by a Will
and Spirit
for good
putting not
our trust
in princes
and men
for salvation
but in the Presence
we have come
to know
as the God of love
our Creator
and Savior

How do you experience your creator?
How do you experience being clay in the potter’s hands?
