Acts 8:26-40; Psalm 66:8-20; John 6:44-51

in stillness
His words
come to us
reminding us
of the Spirit
that guides
relieving the anxiety
of day to day
by providing
what we need
strength
courage
fortitude
and peace
keeping our minds
and hearts fixed
we will not lose our way

Do you allow the stillness to speak?

Acts 8:1b-8; Psalm 66:1-7; John 6:35-40

fearing
what we do not
understand
we silence
and destroy
what would bring
love and healing
and nourish
our souls
until
our eyes
and ears
are opened
by the words
of God’s
tremendous
love

Will you let your eyes and ears be opened?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life
yet a stilled heart
opens
to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
our ignorance forgiven
we are blessed with
refuge
shelter
and new life
in God

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6:22-29

we see
within
our daily bread
into eternity
for our soul’s nourishment
enduring life
giving all
we receive all
in the Truth
revealed

following
His precepts
meditating on
God’s wondrous deeds
our lives are given
meaning
hope
and love
beyond
what we could ever imagine

What do you see within your daily bread?

Acts 5:27-32; 40-44; Psalm 30: 2-6, 11-13; Rev 5: 11-14; John 21: 1-19)

beloved disciples
we know
His voice
raised from death
curses
and hate-
our nets casts forth
alone
in darkness
are fruitless
but in His light
and word
we are filled
we follow
unable to be silent
of the one who
has rescued us
and loved us
we risk all
we give all
by holy fires
we are fed
forgiven for denials
we love
and love
and love
feeding
tending
caring
forgiving
even unto death-
our mourning is
changed to dancing
while all creation
praises His love

Do you hear God’s voice in the stranger?
Do you forgive ourselves and turn to love?
Do you praise God at all times?

Acts 6:1-7; Psalm 33:1-2,4-5; 18-19; John 6:16-21

speaking
to our fears
He guides us to safe harbor
this One
who knows
who we are
lost
and alone
He shows us
a new way
far from the grief
and sorrow
of loss
to a place
of enduring love
that depends on no thing
but God’s love

Do you let God show the way?

1Cor 15:1-8; Psalm 19:2-5; John 14:6-14

reminded
of who we are
and what we have heard
of God’s love
poured out
in word
and acts
we follow
with courage
we ask
for what we need
in His name
knowing
He will answer
for God is all we need

What do you need?
Who do you ask?
Who answers?

Acts 5:27-33; Psalm 34:2,9,17-20; John 3:31-36

unrationed Spirit
of God’s abundance
we are given
all we need
in a Love
close
to our broken-heartedness
and distress
binding
our wounds
and guiding us
spirit filled
we taste
and see
the goodness
of the Lord
and rejoice

Do you call upon the Holy Spirit?

Acts 5:17-26; Psalm 34:2-9; John 3:16-21

in our poverty
we are rescued
with Truth
with Light
in our darkness
revealing
am imperishable Glory
that lives
and breathes
within each
created thing
for any and all
who have eyes to see
even the sight itself a gift
we have no claim to own
called only to be radiant
with the joy
in God’s justice
God’s love of all

Can you see it?

Acts: 4: 32-37; Psalm 93: 1-5; John 3: 7-15

what is it
to be born again
from above
of Spirit
as a wind
that blows
where it will
we hear its sound
we feel its effects
yet from where
does it come?
what are
these heavenly thing
you will
for us
one mind
one heart
no claim of possessions
as our own
there are no needy
among us
as all is shared
and distributed
according to need
from love

What is this love that demands so much good?
