Jos 24:1-13; Psalm 136:1-3, 16-18, 21-24; Matthew 19:3-12

to fields
not our own
you guide us
with a mercy
not of our understanding
cloaked
in the mystery
of your love
we choose
a joining
for your sake
alone
or with
another
to awaken us
to your Presence

What have you chosen?

The Assumption of Mary
Luke 11:27-28

seeking
our blessing
we find her
the one who listens
to God
with all of her heart
all of her soul
and all of her mind
offering
her body
to give birth
to love
one who knows
the way
guides our own “yes”
to the word of God
our soul
proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
with her

Who guides your “yes” go God?
Do you know your part in God’s sacred story?

Dt. 34:1-12; Psalm 66: 1-8, 16-17; Mt 18:15-20

souls on fire
we are
formed together
in community
we hear
the call
of divine love
and respond
bringing all
to God
for reconciliation
knowing
God is always
in our midst
leading us home

Do you hear the call of divine love?
Do God call you into community?

Dt 31:1-8; Dt 32:3-4,7-12; Matthew 18:1-5,10,12-14

child of God
we see
our precious life
and taste
God’s precious word
we speak
the love
that has been shared
with us
to all
that can hear
lost
we are found
and led
to a promised land
of wonder
we see heaven
among us
in all things
waiting

Do you see with the eyes of wonder?

Memorial of Saint Jane de Chantal

Proverb 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31; Psalm 131: 2,3; Mark 3:31-35

my soul
stilled
and quiet
I find my peace
in God
comforted
and held
in God’s word
all I do
flows from
this source of being
each step
upon the earth
in time
echoes the love
of heaven
seeing in each heart
a brother
a sister
a friend
that only the stilled soul
can see
beyond the chaos
beyond the strife
the weaver spins
in our soul

How do you find God’s peace?

Wisdom 18: 6-9; Psalm 33: 1, 12, 18-22, Hebrews 11: 1-2, 8-19

like Sara and Abraham
not knowing
where we are going
we put our hope
our trust
and faith
in God
where our salvation
and new life
resides
lamps burning
we are
ever ready
to follow
our hearts home
to God
our never-failing
treasure
that no thief
can steal
we tend
ceaselessly to
what has been
given
with joy

Do we live by our faith in God?
Are we always ready for God’s grace?
Do we feel God’s eyes and love upon us?

Feast of St. Lawrence
2Cor 9:6-10; Psalm 112:1-9; John 12:24-26

generously
we sow
the seed
given
dying
as a grain
of wheat
to an old life
to be born
again
into
a new life
where
the light
of His glory
shines
and we follow
a way
we know
as Truth
built
on the
steadfast heart
of His love

Do you sow your seed generously?

Dt. 4:32-40; Psalm 77:12-21; Matthew 16:24-28

from the midst
of fire
the white heat
of His voice
calls us
to remember
who we are
in God’s wonder
and power
and fix it
in our hearts
to follow
the one
who will
lead us
and our children
home to peace

Have you heard His voice in the midst of fire?

Numbers 13:1-2,25-14:1,26-29,34-35; Psalm 106:6-7,13-14,21-23;
Matthew 15:21-28

persistent
in our faith
we go
to the One
who heals
bringing
all our hopes
and fears
and prayers
believing
in the power
that saves
not accepting any rebuke
we ask
and receive

Are you persistent in your faith?
Where do you go for healing?
