Acts 11: 1-18; Psalm 42: 2-3, 43: 3,4; John 10: 1-10

we hear
we listen
a voice
manifests
who knows us
and guides us
to goodness
one heart
one mind
even in all
of our diversity
gatekeeper
of heaven
among us
you tends
and guards us
against
all who might
try to steal
what belongs
to all…
the love of God

What is the voice you hear?

Acts 4.8-12; Psalm: 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26,21,19; John 3.1,2; John 10, 11-18

we build our lives
on this cornerstone
that was rejected
by the world’s power
a foundation
of saving grace
and mercy
laid down
beneath
our broken lives
we are healed
and hear the voice
the one
who works
for love
laying down
his life
freely
this love
we will follow
no longer trusting
human frailty
and princes
children of God
we know
who we are

What is it to hear the voice of God?
To hear the voice of Jesus?
How do you follow?

Acts 9:31-42; Psalm 116:12-17; John 6:60-69

leaving all
anxiety
we go forth
into this new life
we have come to know
as the peace of Christ
a serenity
the world cannot give
lifted up
by the Holy Spirit
we are given
all we need
and ask
how shall we return
all the good
that has been shown us

How shall we return all the good that has been shown us?

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to Spirit
being touched
deeply
by the Other
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
whole

Have you experienced a bright light of awareness of your place in God?

Acts 8: 26-40; Psalm 66:3-20; John 6: 44-51

seeking
an answer
we hear
a name
above all others
that calls
to us
from one
who gives
life to our souls
living bread
eternal vision
Jesus
He says
“follow”
baptized
in his living water
we follow
the Holy Spirit
given as our guide

How do you Understand?
How do we know what you are reading?
How do you hear God’s voice?

Acts 8:1b-8; Psalm 66:1-7; John 6:35-40

fearing
what we do not
understand
we silence
and destroy
what would bring
love and healing
and nourish
our souls
until
our eyes
and ears
are opened
by God’s
tremendous
love

Will you let your eyes and ears be opened?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life
yet a stilled heart
opens
to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
our ignorance forgiven
we are blessed with
refuge
shelter
and new life
in God

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6:22-29

we see
within
our daily bread
into eternity
for our soul’s nourishment
enduring life
giving all
we receive all
in the Truth
revealed
following
His word
meditating on
wondrous deeds
our lives are given
meaning
hope
and love
beyond
what we could ever imagine

What do you see within your daily bread?

Acts 2: 14, 22-28; Psalm: 16: 1-2, 7-11; 1 Peter: 17-21; Luke 24: 13-35

hidden
in plain sight
He walks
with us
informs us
guides us
even as we are blind
unknowing
unaware
He sets us on
the path of life
our sojourn
to freedom
in a strange land
delivered
from futility
in one moment
bread raised up
our hearts
and mind open
to the joy
of the Lord
risen
alive
saving us
from all
that leads
to death
even death itself

Do you see him hidden in plain sight?
Do you follow His path?
Have you entered the joy of the Lord?

Acts 6:1-7; Psalm 33:1-2,4-5; 18-19; John 6:16-21

speaking
to our fears
He guides us to safe harbor
this One
who knows
who we are
lost
and alone
He shows us
a new way
far from the grief
and sorrow
of loss
to a place
of enduring love
that depends on no thing
but God’s love

Do you let God show the way?
