Acts 13:26-33; Psalm 2:6-11; John 14: 1-6

do not
let your heart
be troubled
you who know
and serve God
who in humbleness
see the path
set before you
by the one
who came
to save
there
is your dwelling place
your home
in goodness
and loving-kindness

By what is your heart troubled?
Do you see the path set before you?
Where do you find your dwelling place?

Acts 13:13-25; Psalm 89:2-27; John 13:16-20

from a distance
we see the story
of our lives
the story
of God’s love
and goodness
the only story
we have to tell
“forever
we shall sing
the goodness
of the Lord”

How has your life been the story of God’s love and goodness?

Acts 12:24-13:5; Psalm 67:2-8; John 12:44-50

coming
as Light
he shines
in our darkness
revealing
a goodness
we didn’t know
or see
as our own
Holy Spirit
guiding our life
we listen
always
for your way

How do you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit?

Acts 11:19-26; Psalm 87:1-7; John 10:22-30

with firmness
of heart
we put all
of our faith
in God
trusting in
the love
that is calling us
we welcome
every moment
as God’s grace
and let go
of our own programs
for happiness
and listen to
His voice

What are your programs for happiness?
What are God’s?

Acts 11: 1-18; Psalm 42: 2-3, 43: 3,4; John 10: 1-10

we hear
we listen
a voice
manifests
who knows us
and guides us
to goodness
one heart
one mind
even in all
of our diversity
gatekeeper
of heaven
among us
you tends
and guards us
against
all who might
try to steal
what belongs
to all…
the love of God

What is the voice you hear?

Acts 4.8-12; Psalm: 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26,21,19; John 3.1,2; John 10, 11-18

we build our lives
on this cornerstone
that was rejected
by the world’s power
a foundation
of saving grace
and mercy
laid down
beneath
our broken lives
we are healed
and hear the voice
the one
who works
for love
laying down
his life
freely
this love
we will follow
no longer trusting
human frailty
and princes
children of God
we know
who we are

What is it to hear the voice of God?
To hear the voice of Jesus?
How do you follow?

Acts 9:31-42; Psalm 116:12-17; John 6:60-69

leaving all
anxiety
we go forth
into this new life
we have come to know
as the peace of Christ
a serenity
the world cannot give
lifted up
by the Holy Spirit
we are given
all we need
and ask
how shall we return
all the good
that has been shown us

How shall we return all the good that has been shown us?

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to Spirit
being touched
deeply
by the Other
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
whole

Have you experienced a bright light of awareness of your place in God?

Acts 8: 26-40; Psalm 66:3-20; John 6: 44-51

seeking
an answer
we hear
a name
above all others
that calls
to us
from one
who gives
life to our souls
living bread
eternal vision
Jesus
He says
“follow”
baptized
in his living water
we follow
the Holy Spirit
given as our guide

How do you Understand?
How do we know what you are reading?
How do you hear God’s voice?

Acts 8:1b-8; Psalm 66:1-7; John 6:35-40

fearing
what we do not
understand
we silence
and destroy
what would bring
love and healing
and nourish
our souls
until
our eyes
and ears
are opened
by God’s
tremendous
love

Will you let your eyes and ears be opened?
