Genesis 23:1-4; 19; 24:1-8, 62-67; Psalm 106 1-5; Matthew 9:9-13

the desire
of mercy calls
not sacrifice
as we follow a way
out of the chaos
of our minds
into the healing space
of Spirit
a holy offering
of peace
to hearts wrangled
with division
asking only
for a pause in our ways
to experience
the embrace of breath
as our creator’s love

from the beginning
to our end
we live
in the mystery
of another
who guides
our way
when we open
our eyes
our ears
our minds
and our hearts

Have you paused to experience the embrace of your breath?
Who owns your breath?
Is it love?

Genesis 21:8-20; Psalm 34:7-13; Matthew 8:28-34

demons
cry out
to the one
who knows them
looking
for a way

demons expelled
we are free
to live our life
without distress
in the arms
of angels
to guide us
to the love
we most desire

seeking God
we learn that we have
all we need
and live in God’s desire
for our Good
and the Good of all

Are you free?

Solemnity of Peter and Paul
Acts 12:1-11; Psalm 34:2-9; 2Tim 4:6-8,17-18; Matthew 16:13

in prayer
we see Him
as He is
the Christ
our light
transforming all
into God’s vision
we look to Him
that we may be
radiant
with joy
and feel
God’s constant
presence
that surrounds us
guiding us
and protecting us

Do you experience the joy of God’s presence?
How does it change you?

Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24; Psalm 30:2, 4-6, 11-13; 2 Cor 8:7,9,13-15; Mark 5:21-43

through
the eyes of God
all are equal in love
and being
those who have much
do not have more
and whoever has little
does not have less
and in awe
we reach out
from our affliction
knowing one touch
one word
can heal
bringing all of our suffering
all of our loss
to an end
we believe
his words
“do not be afraid
just have faith”

Do you reach out for healing in faith?
Do you believe your faith save you?

Genesis 18:1-15; Luke 1:46-55; Matthew 8:5-17

our spirit
rejoices
as our soul
proclaims
the greatness
of the Lord
God our savior
letting go
of all that burdens
and imprisons us
as our faith
in His healing love
restores us
we arise
and tend
to a world
in need
with joy

Does your soul proclaim the goodness of the Lord?
Does your Spirit rejoice in God your Savior?

Matthew 8:1-4

reaching out
out our hand
to the one
who invites us
into a love
of healing
and grace
we find ourselves
cleansed
and renewed
from all that keeps us
away from faith
in the holy presence
that surrounds us
even in these trying times
we are buoyed
by God’s great love

How are you sustained in these trying times?

Solemnity of John the Baptist
Luke 1:57-66,80

formed
in our mother’s womb
we do not know
who we are
until we are called
into the light
and named
by one who loves us
we embrace
the journey
of our lives
with all of its mystery
joys and sorrows
being lead
through our questions
that are answered
through God’s love

What are your questions?
Who answers?

Genesis 15:1-18; Psalm 105:1-9; Matthew 7:15-20

aligned
with God’s grace
we bear
the fruit
of God’s Goodness
wary
of false prophets
wolves
in sheep’s clothing
we keep
our eyes fixed
on the one
who keeps
His promises
and shows us
the way
through our anxiety
to the peaceful way
of Truth

How does God show you the way through your anxiety?
What is your daily bread?
How do you bear God’s fruit?

Genesis 13: 2, 5-18; Psalm 15: 2-5; Matthew 7: 6, 12-14

this narrow
gate
to which
we are called
who would
enter
if not for
a love
they see
and hear
and touch
and taste
much greater
than the world
has known
a perfect
justice
that holds
no harm
only love
and goodness
for one another

Can you see through the narrow gate?
Do you dare enter?

Genesis 12: 1-9; Psalm 33: 12-22; Mt 7: 1-5

speak
the truth
and set
it free
not with judgment
but with vision
setting a path
to a promised land
where
all needs
are met
in kindness
generosity
and gentleness
when
the violence
of greed
is left behind

Have you left the violence of greed?
