1Mc4: 36-37,52-59; 1Chr 29:1-12; Luke 19:45-48

the earth
intended
as a house
of prayer
becomes
a den of thieves
until He comes
to turn the tables
and those who see
and hear
hang on to every word
for Truth
to restore
God’s will
for love
to the world

Where do you turn for Truth?

1Mc 2:15-29; Psalm 50:1-2, 5-7, 14-15; Luke 19:41-44

Jesus
you weep
over a city
that will not see
its way
to peace
not recognizing
the time
of its visitation
it is lost
to war
and terror
division
and strife
blind
to the Beauty
that guides
day and night
death
is chosen
over life
and you weep

we weep with you

2Mc 7:1,20-31; Psalm 17:1-15; Luke 19:11-28

faithful
to God’s law
of love
we turn
to what we know
is true
in awe
of the author
of life
we cry out
for justice
for the poor
and the hungry
that their body
and soul
be fed
and that tyrants
be turned away
from power

How do you remain faithful to God’s law of love?

2Mc6:18-31; Psalm 3: 2-3,4-5,6-7; Luke 19:1-10

lost
and afraid
we come
to meet the One
who is full
of Wisdom
and healing
for our soul
She calls us
coming into
our heart
and home
to save us
by facing
the darkness
within us
that can overtake
and destroy
shining the Light
of Truth
of God’s
immeasurable Love

Has Wisdom come into your darkness?

Luke 18:35-43

Jesus asks…

“What do you want me to do for you?”

What do you want Jesus to do for you?

Dn 12:1-3; Psalm 16:5,8-11; Hebrews 10:11-14,18; Mark 13:24-32

a time
unsurpassed
in distress
brings us
to our poverty
helpless
in our need
we wait
for some answer
some strength
some courage
to bring us back
to life
and health
and home

then in our darkness
the light
of His coming
rushes in
to save us
from despair
Holy Spirit
rising up
we find a way
to a new life
we find our courage
no longer apart
but a part
of an everlasting life
and love

What do you find in your distress and need?
Do you find the courage and strength of God’s love?

Wisdom 18:14-16; 19:6-9; Psalm 105: 2-3,36-37, 42-43; Luke 18:1-8

we pray always
without becoming weary
we persist
with patience
knowing
that love
and justice
will come
we live within
the courage
and confidence
of Faith
given
as God’s gift
and grace

Where will God find faith on the earth?

Wisdom 13:1-9; Psalm 19:2-5; Luke 17:26-37

lost
in the created
rather
than the creator
we go
from thing
to thing
unsatisfied
until
we are touched
by the author
the one
of truest love
we follow
never turning back
eyes always
fixed
proclaiming
the Glory of God

Are you lost?
Where will you be found?

1 WIS 7:22B–8:1

“In Wisdom is a spirit
intelligent, holy, unique,
Manifold, subtle, agile,
clear, unstained, certain,
Not baneful, loving the good, keen,
unhampered, beneficent, kindly,
Firm, secure, tranquil,
all-powerful, all-seeing,
And pervading all spirits,
though they be intelligent, pure and very subtle.
For Wisdom is mobile beyond all motion,
and she penetrates and pervades all things by reason of her purity.
For she is an aura of the might of God
and a pure effusion of the glory of the Almighty;
therefore nought that is sullied enters into her.
For she is the refulgence of eternal light,
the spotless mirror of the power of God,
the image of his goodness.
And she, who is one, can do all things,
and renews everything while herself perduring;
And passing into holy souls from age to age,
she produces friends of God and prophets.
For there is nought God loves, be it not one who dwells with Wisdom.
For she is fairer than the sun
and surpasses every constellation of the stars.
Compared to light, she takes precedence;
for that, indeed, night supplants,
but wickedness prevails not over Wisdom.

Indeed, she reaches from end to end mightily
and governs all things well.“

Do you hear the voice of Wisdom?
Where does she lead you?

Luke 17:11-19

in all
circumstances
we give thanks
to our God
who offers
goodness
and love
joy and peace
healing
our lives
keeping us firm
even as we feel weak
and uncertain
showing compassion
and kindness
that we return
this day

How are you thankful in all circumstances?
How do you show your thankfulness?
