1John 2:3-11; Psalm 96:1-6; Luke 2:22-35

the rise
and fall
of many
His sword
the Light of Truth
pierces our hearts
revealing
any hatred
deception
or darkness
with the Presence
of an undeniable Love
Holy Spirit
guide of our Being
we sing
in praise
as God’s purest Love
our heart’s desire
is revealed

Has the Light of God’s Love pierced your heart?
What do you see?

1John 1:5-2:2; Psalm 124:2-8; Matthew 2:13-18

we experience
the burden
of our freedom
to choose in
the slaughter
of Holy Innocents
in some need
of protection
and power
or fear

we experience
the depth
of God’s love
in forgiveness
of our sin
and the freedom
in the power
of His Son’s love
who is the Light
in our darkness

Do you experience the burden of your freedom?
Do you experience the freedom of forgiveness?
What do you choose?

1John 1: 1-4; Psalm 97: 1-2, 5-6, 11-12; John 20: 1-8

no longer
entombed
the Word of Life
has been made visible
seen
and heard
touched
with our hands
we are
the ones
He loved
we rejoice
as the light
dawns upon
our hearts
giving
thanks
we are no longer
locked
in time
as we enter
God’s eternal life

Do you experience yourself as the one he loves?
Do you love others with this love?

Colossians 3:12-21

“Put on heartfelt compassion,
kindness,
humility,
gentleness,
and patience,
bearing with one another
and forgiving one another,
if one has a grievance
against another;
as the Lord has forgiven you,
so must you also do.
And over all these put on love,

And let the peace of Christ
control your hearts,
the peace into which you
were also called in one body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you
as in all wisdom…
singing psalms,
hymns,
and spiritual songs
with gratitude
in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do,
in word or in deed,
do everything
in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God…”

Do you let the peace of Christ control your heart?

Isaiah 52: 7-10; Ps 98:1-6; Hebrews 1:1-6; John 1: 1-18

how beautiful
His feet
upon the mountains
bringing
glad tidings
and a song to our heart
we feel His saving power
as the living word
reflects God’s glory
our sins and our suffering
are healed
in His dwelling
among us
this enduring love
heals our fragments
and varied ways
uniting us
with Him
coming into being
through Him
this light
in our darkness
guiding our way
revealing
God to us–
revealing
God with us–
revealing
God in us–
a fullness in which
we all have a share
with love following
upon love

Do you accept the gift of this day?
Do you hear His new song in your heart?
Do you feel His saving power?

Mass in the morning
2Samuel 7: 1-5, 8-12, 14, 16; Psalm 89: 2-3, 4-5, 29; Luke 1:67-79

the dawn
breaks
upon us
shining out
from a shadow
of darkness
and death
a gift
beyond belief
is given
all we have
longed for
freedom
kindness
mercy
forgiveness
compassion
and love
are given
to dwell

with us
in God’s
goodness
forever

Do you believe?

Mal 3:1-4,23-24; Psalm 25:4-14; Luke 1:57-66

what will
this child be
born
of Truth
and miracle
known
by star gazers
shepherds and kings
as the guide
and teacher
foretold
to follow

who will
endure
the day
of his coming
as brilliant
as the radiance
of the sun
refiner
of our souls
that are set
on fire
in love

Will you endure the day of His coming?

1 Samuel 1: 24-28; 1 Samuel 2: 1-7; Luke 1: 46-56

praying
with Mary
my soul
proclaims
the greatness
of the lord
my spirit
rejoices in God
my savior
into my lowliness
my hunger
my barrenness
and fear
his glory
appears
with new life
for me
for all
fed
renewed
not by any merit
of our own
or worthiness
but by gracious love
given freely
to one who
would receive
God’s mercy

Does your soul proclaim the greatness of the Lord?
Does your Spirit rejoice in God your savior?

Zep 3:14-18; Psalm 33:2-21; Luke 1:39-45

our hearts leap
as we behold
the child
of Truth
who brings
a love
that will not fade
in times
of testing
but will endure
through all
that is now
and is to come
friend
of our grief
he will bring
joy
to our sorrow
and renewed life
to our world

What do you behold?

Isaiah 7: 10-14; Psalm 24: 16; Luke 1:26-38

She listened.

She heard.

She pondered.

She said yes my Lord.

Do you listen?

Do you hear?

Do you ponder?

Do you say “yes” my Lord?

Who is your Lord?
