you who know us
who knows our hearts
and minds
our weakness
our suffering-
you who have lived and walked
with us
bring us mercy-
in this meeting place of God
and humanity
grace comes
in our sufferings
as we hunger
in famine
and the wages of war
in the face of death
our soul is waiting
for your help-
your shield
a light seen
we put our hope
our trust
in you
who loves justice
and right-
immersed in the waters
of you
we seek to share
and to serve all
with this love
we have come
to know
in you

Do we see our affliction as a moment of grace?
Do we put all our hope and trust in God?
Do we serve with the love we have found?
