Fourth Sunday of Easter

Acts 4.8-12; Psalm: 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26,21,19; John 3.1,2; John 10, 11-18

building our lives
on this cornerstone
that was rejected
by the world’s power
a foundation
of saving grace
and mercy
laid down
beneath
our crippled lives
we are healed
and hear the voice
of the one
who works
for love
laying down
His life
freely
this is the love
we will follow
no longer trusting
human frailty
and princes
children of God
we know
who we are.

What is it to hear the voice of God?
To hear the voice of Jesus?
How do you follow?

Friday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to the Holy Spirit
being touched
deeply
by God
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
God

How has God shined His light on you?
What do you see?

Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
and we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life

yet somehow
a stilled heart
opens to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
and our ignorance
is forgiven
as we are given
refuge
shelter
and new life
with Him

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Third Sunday of Easter

Luke 24:35-48

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”

We look
We see Him
and let peace
be with us

in our hearts
and minds
He has risen
repentance
and forgiveness
are here
in His name
for all
who can see
a Glory shines
from heaven
over all the earth

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”
