Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Genesis 3:9-15; Psalm 130:1-8; 2Cor 4:13-5:1; Mark 3:20-35

living in God’s will
for love
God’s love for all
we are not discouraged
even as our
outer self
is wasting away
our inner self
is being renewed
day by day
through prayer
looking not
at what is seen
but the unseen
which is eternal
a love
that lasts
even as all else
may be destroyed
in this
we put our faith
and hope
in this
we live
with joy

Is your inner self renewed day by day through prayer?
Do you live by the power of the Holy Spirit?

Friday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Hosea 11:1-9; Isaiah 12:2-6; Ephesians 3:8-19; John 19:31-37

called back
to the source
of our Being
we draw water
joyfully
from the springs
of God’s saving grace
and draw strength
from God’s spirit
in our inner self
that Christ may dwell
in our hearts
through faith
that is rooted
and grounded
in love
a love that surpasses
all knowledge

Do you experience the love from the source of your Being?
Are you grounded in this love?

Wednesday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

2Timothy 1:1-3,6-12; Psalm 25: 2-9; Mark 12: 18-27

not through a Spirit
of cowardice
but of power
and love
and self-control
we are given
our lives
as a gift
for goodness

misled
by our culture
we lose sight
of our spiritual nature
we become
discouraged
despairing
in time
ready for death

then
a Light comes
in revelation
drawing us
to Truth
a saving grace
and we see
ourselves
anew
in the realm
of angels

Have you lost sight of your spiritual nature?
Are you guided by the gifts of the Spirit?

Monday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time

Memorial of Saint Charles Lwanga and companions, martyrs
Psalm 91:1-2,14-16; Mark 12:1-12

we surrender
to a divine power
that would
bestow on us
everything
that makes
a life
of devotion…
we supplement
our faith
with virtue;
virtue
with knowledge;
knowledge
with self-control;
self-control
with endurance;
endurance
with devotion;
devotion
with mutual affection;
mutual affection
with love

What is being asked of you?

Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ

Corpus Christi
Exodus 24:3-8; Psalm 116: 12-18; Hebrews 9:11-15; Mark 14: 12-16, 22-26

beyond our means
to see
precious death
His life
His body
His pulsing blood
poured out
calls us
to a living God
calls us to Life
cleansing our conscience
from dead works
to worship
the living God
passing into
 His love
His truth
that we may know
the new covenant
living in us
beating
in our hearts
His blood
our blood
we are
one with Him

Do you experience His life within you?
How do you accept his new covenant in your heart?

Saturday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Jude 17,20b-25; Psalm 63:2-6; Mark 11:27-33

what saving grace
will come to us
as we struggle
with violence
greed
and deception
from those who
have stolen authority

praying
in the Holy Spirit
we keep ourselves
in God’s love
living with
patience
for God’s mercy
to a waiting world
for we have seen
a Glory
that will not fail

Is your soul thirsting for God
Do you pray in the Holy Spirit?
Are you held in God’s love?
