Tuesday of the Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Hosea 8:4-7, 11-13; Psalm 115:4-10; Matthew 9:32-38

sowing
with wind
we reap
the whirlwind
of destruction
worshiping
gold and silver
selling love
eyes that see not
ears that hear not
noses that smell not
we become
the death
we create
until we are touched
by the incarnate word
of God
alive
breathing
seeing
hearing
and walking
upon the earth
we take God’s hand
and live

What do you see in the fallen statues?
Where are God’s words alive in you?

Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Ezekiel 2:1-5; Psalm 123:1-4; 2Cor 12:7-10; Mark 6:1-6

we walk
the path of prophets
speaking the Truth
we hear
from God’s love
Holy Spirit
offering mercy
and grace
to our weakness
sufficient to our need
we open our hearts
in faith
even as we resist
the ordinary
trusting the One
we are called to hear
living and breathing
among us

Can you hear God’s love through the words of prophets?
Does your heart resist their words?
Does God’s love grow strong in your weakness?

Saturday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 9:11-15; Psalm 85:9-14; Matthew 9:14-17

celebrating
the newness
of this day
we pour
ourselves
into a life
given
for goodness
we are released
from old wounds
and deprivations
letting go
of expectations
experiencing
the moment
when kindness and Truth
meet
when justice
and peace kiss
and the Truth
springs out
of the earth
and justice
walks upon the land

Do you celebrate the newness of this day?
Do you care for all as sacred?

Friday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 8:4-6,9-12; Psalm 119:2,10,20,30,40,131; Matthew 9:9-13

hearing the voice of the Prophets
we seek God
with all of our heart
and mind
longing for
the way of Truth
in the days of famine
we hear a voice
that says “follow”
turning to the way
of mercy
we let go of the burden
of sinfulness
seeing the way
of God’s love and peace

What voice do you hear?
Do you follow?
What is the way to peace?

Wednesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Feast of St. Thomas, Apostle
Ephesians 2:19-22; Psalm 117:1,2; John 20:24-29

greater than
my need
to touch
and see
my faith
lives beyond
our concepts
and concrete notions
in a a realm
that calls for
a complete surrender
into the mystery of God
allowing the Truth
of Christ’s completeness
to enter
revealing
the dwelling place
of God
in the Holy Spirit
who guides my life

What are your doubts?
How are you reassured?
How are you blessed?

Tuesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Matthew 8:23-27

living in the fear
of our storms
He awakens in us
to quell our fears
with a calmness
that sweeps over
our life
searching our heart
and soul
nothing is left untouched
brought to light
we lose our self reference
and see all in Him
God and Spirit
our guide
we live
in the spaciousness
of grace and mercy
where all is forgiven
and Heaven
rushes in

Do you allow God’s calming of the storms in your life?
How does the Holy Spirit work in your life?

Monday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 2:6-10, 13-16; Psalm 50:16-23; Psalm 95:8; Mt 8:18-22

what is this
sacrifice of praise
we are to offer?
is it for the God
who needs none
or ourselves
to remember
who we are
created
to live
in the Spirit of Love
for ourselves
and another
heeding
the words of the prophets
to not give in
to temptations
of evil
that harden our hearts
but to listen
to God’s voice
that offers peace

What voice do you listen to?
What is your sacrifice of praise

Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24; Psalm 30:2, 4-6, 11-13; 2 Cor 8:7,9,13-15; Mark 5:21-43

through
the eyes of God
all are equal in love
and being
those who have much
do not have more
and whoever has little
does not have less
and in awe
we reach out
from our affliction
knowing one touch
one word
can heal
bringing all of our suffering
all of our loss
to an end
we believe
his words
“do not be afraid
just have faith”

Do you reach out for healing in faith?
Do you believe your faith saves you?
