Fifth Sunday of Easter

Acts 6: 1-7; Psalm 33; 1 Peter 2: 4-9; John 14: 1-12

placing our trust
in God
we are set free
our hearts
no longer troubled
we live

knowing
believing
hearing
His word
living
His word
we become
the living stones
built into
a spiritual home
we are one
of many rooms
home in Him
we rejoice
in God’s steadfast love
we breathe
His spirit
and wisdom
we walk
the earth
full of His love
and justice
becoming His melody
easing
the world’s famine
we are fed
set free
saved
from death

Are you filled with His spirit and wisdom?
Where is your spiritual home?
How does He set you free?

Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Acts 13:26-33; Psalm 2:6-11; John 14: 1-6

do not
let your heart
be troubled
you who know
and serve God

in humbleness
see the path
set before you
by the one
who came
to save
there is your
dwelling place
your home
in goodness
and loving-kindness

beauty and Truth

By what is your heart troubled?
Do you see the path set before you?
Where do you find your dwelling place?
Do you live in the Joy of the Lord?

Thursday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Acts 13: 13-25; Psalms 89: 2-3, 21-22; 25-27; John 13: 16-20

even as morning light
dawns
with tears and anguish
we trust in Him
and sing of
God’s goodness
mercy
and kindness
faithful
even as the earth quakes
and wars ravage
we know Him
and He knows us
a presence
among us
calling us
to vigilance
guiding us
to the path
of life
and love
that we seek
heeding His warnings
of betrayal
we stay
and trust
in Him

How do you place your trust in Him?
Of what goodness do you sing?

Monday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Acts 11:1-18; Psalm 42:2-4; John 10:11-18

dreams
and visions
open our minds
to all that is
of God
nothing created
is profane
but ill intent–
with our soul’s
longing
we hear His voice
and open our hearts
to a love
that endures
our lives
are taken up
as we enter
the joy
of the living God

Do you listen to your dreams?
Do you hear Gods’ voice?
What is your vision?

Fourth Sunday of Easter

Acts 2: 14: 36-41; Psalm 23: 1-6; 1 Peter 2: 20-25; John 10: 1-10

we hear
His voice
we turn
and know
the way
guardian
of our souls
we follow
paths to life
safe from those
that would
steal our soul
we are given
safe passage
through verdant pasture
and restful waters
even in darkness
we have no fear
for courage
guides us
goodness
and kindness
follow us
passing through
the open gate
we leave
behind
all that is called sin
and enter
God’s will
that is love

Do you hear and know his voice?
Do you follow?
