Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul

Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul
Acts 22:3-16; Psalm 117:1,2; Mark 16:15-18

living
in our delusions
we separate
and persecute
thinking we know
what is right and good
until the Light
of Grace
that reveals
the Truth
of Oneness
and Love
challenges
everything
we have ever believed
setting us free
for new life
living
in peace
and harmony
in God’s Love
This is the Good News.

What light do you see
What do you hear?

Friday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Heb 8:6-13; Psalm 85:8-14; Mark 3:13-19

living
in the days
of the new covenant
when God
puts the law of love
in our minds
and hearts
through His Presence
needing
no other
to say
“know the Lord”
we hear
God’s calling
to live
in kindness
justice
mercy
and Truth

Do you hear God speaking into your mind and heart?
Are God’s words speaking of love, kindness, mercy and justice?
Do you see God’s justice as love of all?

Thursday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 7:25-8:6; Psalm 40:7-17; Mark 3:7-12

law written
within my heart
I press my ear
to the sound
of its beating
feeling the pulse
of its steady rhythm
set to the pace
of God’s existence
in me
marveling at
its faithfulness
to my day to day
setting the flow
and pace
of love
in my life
enduring
and pressing back
against all
that would break it
or harden it
thankful
for this sacred chamber
and holy place
of prayer in me

What is written in your heart?

Wednesday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Mark 3: 1-6

we come
before you
on our Sabbath
to remember
who we are
made for goodness
and healing
with withered hand
outstretched
knowing
our need
you heal us
and we feel
the power of Life
holy splendor
falling on us
like the dew
the power
of a life
that cannot
be destroyed
one in you
without beginning
or end

Do you feel the power of God’s life and love?
Have you outstretched your hand to God?
How have you been healed?

Tuesday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 6: 10-20; Psalm 111: 1-10; Mark 2: 23-28

Jesus
you are
an anchor
for our soul
sure and firm
reaching
beyond
into the heart
of God
where we find
all we need
in love
fed
we work
tirelessly

with the Holy Spirit
in this given
love
which we return
most graciously
to you
through
one another

Are all of your hopes in the promises of God?
How do you return the love that has been given?
What is the anchor of your soul?

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Is 62:1-5; Psalm 96: 1-16; 1Cor 12:4-11; John 2:1-11

refusing silence
God speaks-
no longer
forsaken
or desolate
he calls us
“delight”-
rejoicing
in this love
that ignites a song
of praise
in our hearts
we offer our lives
to goodness
and love
using the gifts
we are given
to change
the ordinary
to sacred
as we walk
each moment
through this mysterious
path of life-
amazed
at what each day
asks of us

Do you hear God’s “delight”?
Are you amazed at what is asked of you?
Are you ready to be changed?

Saturday of the First Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrew 4:12-16; Psalm 19:8-15; Mark 2:13-17

called
to follow
the one
who knows
how to live
without sin
no moment
separate
from God
always able
to hear
the Holy Spirit’s
word
living
and effective
sharper than
any two-edged sword
penetrating
even between
soul and spirit
discerning
reflections
and thoughts
of the heart
guiding us
through
the noise of temptations
to hear
the voice
of God

Who do you follow?
