Tuesday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 12:1-4; Psalm 22:26-32; Mark 5:21-43

through His cross
we rid ourselves
of every burden
we persevere
keeping our eyes
fixed on Jesus
in order
that we may not
grow weary
offering any infirmity
to God’s healing touch
we enter
the realm
of saving grace
touched
by the Holy Spirit
we regain
our strength
and see every possibility
for Love

Are your eyes fixed on Jesus?
Do you feel his healing touch?
Do you offer thanks?

Monday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 11:32-40; Psalm 31:20-24; Mark 5:1-20

hearing the sound
of our pleading
He answers our prayers
healing all within us
that separates us
from God’s love
our hearts take comfort
in our hope in Him
in the great goodness
we see
though often disguised and hidden
in tragedy
and turmoil
His light
penetrates
the deepest darkness
into the soul of us
bringing peace

Does Christs’ light bring peace to your heart?
Does His light help you see goodness even amidst tragedy and turmoil?

Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Mal 3: 1-4; Psalm 24: 7, 8, 9, 10; Hebrews: 2: 14-18; Luke: 2: 22-40
Holy Spirit
preparing
the way
guiding our lives
opening
our praying eyes
to Glory
we see the one
we have longed for
who saves us
from our fear
of death
and the sin
that enslaves us
our hearts are opened
and revealed
as we endure
the purifying
flame
of love
and mercy
through
His tested faith
and give thanks

Do you see His Glory?
Do you experience His saving power?
How are you guided by the Holy Spirit?

Saturday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 11:1-19; Luke 1:69-75; Mark 4:35-41

our hopes
realized in faith
we are called out
to an unknown journey
to create anew
with the Holy Spirit
of God’s love for all-
offered mercy
and freedom
from the stillness
of our hearts
all our fears
are calmed
as we are in awe
of the power
of the Holy Spirit
in Him
who even the wind
and the sea obey

Are your hopes realized in faith?
Are all your fears calmed by the Holy Spirit’s power in you?
Do you know how to be still?

Friday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Hebrews 10: 32-39; Psalm 37: 3-40; Mark 4: 26-34

we scatter
seeds
in joy
and hope
not knowing
what will come
we labor
in faith
sustained
by the One
who knows
the harvest
never knowing
what suffering
or challenge
may come
even to
our faith
over and over
our daily bread
is to choose life
for ourselves
for others
knowing all
love
and justice
is gift

What challenges your faith?
What calls you to Life?

Monday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Mark 3:22-30

we see
a house divided
and know
it cannot stand
praying
for a unity
that seems to elude us
yet glimpsed by eyes
that reach beyond
self-interest
and willfulness

called by faith
aligned with mercy
conceived in
a Holy Spirit
of wisdom
and truth
a path opens
and forgiveness
showers us
with the grace

to see each other
held
in God’s Holy Spirit
of love

Do you see a house divided against itself?
What will heal the divisions?
Who do you call upon for healing?

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Neh: 2-6; 8-10, Ps 19:8-10, 15; Cor 12:12-30; Luke: 1:1-4, 4:14-21)

one body
made
one spirit
moving
within His ways
our heart beats
our eyes see
our hands hold
His love
passed from one
another
His law enfleshed
our hearts rejoice
His pure sight
enlightens
and weeping
is no more
we feast
with Him
sending portions
to those who
have nothing
setting free
the captives
setting liberty for
the oppressed
this joy of the Lord

is our strength

Is his law alive in your heart?
Can you see with his eyes?
Is his joy your strength?
