Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Ez 47: 1-9, 12; Psalm 46: 2-3, 5-6, 8-9; John 5: 1-16

in our affliction
He calls our name
reaching into
the heart
and mind
and soul
of us

He asks
if we want to be well
and in a moment
we are changed
knowing we have met
the healing waters
of God’s love

being seen
being heard
by the source
of all love
and Truth
we can only answer
yes

healed
by his word
we stand
and walk
and follow

Do you want to be well?
Do you stand, take up your mat, and follow God’s love?

Fourth Sunday of Lent

Jos 5:9-12; Psalm 34:2-7; 2Cor 5: 17-21; Luke: 15:1-3, 11-32

with days of manna gone
we are invited to the promised land
where the lost
come home
and our feet are fast
with dancing
music fills the air
feasting
and rejoicing
surround us
for those who were dead
have come to life
our soul glories
in this goodness of
new creation
we are radiant
with joy
reconciled
with truest love
we taste and see
God’s goodness
for we sought the Lord
and God answered
delivering us
from our fears

Do you rejoice in the return of the lost?
What is your part in the new creation?

Friday of the Third Week of Lent

Hosea 13: 2-10; Psalm 81: 6-17; Mark 12: 28-34

spirit upon us
like the dewfall
we hear
love God first
with all
your heart
and mind
and soul
let no strange God
come among you
and take the love

of yourself
and neighbor from you
forgive
and let love
blossom
as freely
as the lilies
casting
as wide
a fragrance
as the cedars
and splendor
of the olive branch

Has a strange God come among you to take the love yourself and your neighbor?

Tuesday of the Third Week of Lent

Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord
Isaiah 7: 10-14, 8:10; Psalm 40: 7-11; Hebrews 10: 4-10; Luke: 1: 26-38

Holy Spirit
your will
for love
and justice
finding its form
within
a willing
womb
allowing
the birth of
God with us
to grow
within
our hearts
and minds
and being
the light
of your love
the only sign
we need

What form does the Holy Spirit take in your life?

Mary lets go of fear when troubled.
She listens and ponders.
She asks questions.
She responds with faith in the Holy Spirit.
What is your process of knowing God’s will?

Monday of the Third Week of Lent

2Kings 5: 1-5; Psalm 42: 2,3; 43: 3-4; Luke 4: 24-30

blinded
by familiarity
wealth
and power
yet longing
for healing
and thirsting
for the living God
we dare
to enter
our poverty
relinquishing
all
we enter
the light
and love
of God
seeing
God’s face
we are healed
and sing
in our gladness
and joy

Do you dare relinquish all for the mystery of God’s love?
