Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Kings 19:16-21 ; Ps 16: 1-11 ; Galatians 51, 13-18 ; Luke 9:51-62

entering
the homelessness
of Christ
no den
no nest
He is our home
our following
we enter his Holy Spirit
the place of love
knowing no boundaries
of Samaritan
of flesh
of law
but enjoined
to freedom
we follow
at any moment
His call
to love’s need
hand to the plough
we do not look back
only to
the path of life
our refuge
our counsel
this we serve
and enter
the joy
of the Lord

Have you left all behind to enter His spirit?
Do you look back?
Do you answer love’s call in a moment?
Do you experience His homelessness?
Do you find a home in Him?

Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Zechariah 12:10-11; Psalm 63:2-9; Galatians 3:26-29; Luke 9:18-24

there is no
male or female
slave or free
Jew or Greek-
in our thirst
soul
pressed
against
the earth
we long
for living water
in this suffering life
this life of
mourning
parched
and lifeless
we are
ready
to give up all
for the truth
of His kindness
and goodness
we lose
our life
and find it
again
with joy
in the
God
who
upholds us

Is your soul thirsting for God?
Do you feel the joy of living in the shelter of God’s wing?
Does God uphold you?
