Thursday of the Second Week of Easter

Acts 5:27-33; Psalm 34:2,9,17-20; John 3:31-36

coming
from heaven
with a word
from God
unrationed Spirit
from above
to be close
to the brokenhearted
and those crushed
in spirit
hearing our cries
he offers
a refuge
and path
leading us beyond
anger and doubt
to a place of patience
trust
and care
we taste
and see
the goodness
of the Lord

Can you get your anger to a place of patience and kindness?

Tuesday of the Second Week of East

1Peter 5:5-14; Psalm 89: 2-17; Mark 16:15-20

forever
I will sing
the goodness
of the Lord
we cast
our worries
upon Him
because He cares
for us
and provides
love and strength
and guidance
for all we must face
in the world
that challenges us
everyday

Do you cast your worries upon the Lord?
Does He answer you with Love and Strength and guidance?

Monday of the Second Week of Easter

Acts 4:23-31; Psalm 2:1-3,4-7,7-9; John 3:1-8

born again
from above
in Spirit
and Truth
we see
new eyes
each day
we work
and have our Being
with new strength
caring for ourselves
and others
with kindness
even as we are challenged
we gather courage
against the storms
of suffering
and death
as the Spirit
works and prays
within us

How do you respond to the Holy Spirit within you?

Sunday of Divine Mercy

Acts 2:42-47; Psalm 118:2-4,13-15;22-24; 1Peter 1:3-9; John 20:19-31

unseen
we believe
in the Holy Spirit
given
in communion
for our sake
strength
and courage
as we face
inevitable trials
and suffer
in this boundary
of time
we believe
in a promise given
a sacrifice made
a faith held
in a place for us
imperishable
undefiled
and unfading
a heaven
for us
opened by
an infinite
divine mercy
a place of peace

Are your open to the Spirit’s strength and courage for the journey?
Are you open to Divine Mercy?

Saturday in the Octave of Easter

Acts 4:12-21; Psalm 118:1,14-21; Mark 16:9-15

seeing
hearing
we go forth
with Good News
unable
to not speak
of what we have seen
and heard
God alive
 among us
present now
to relieve
our sin
suffering
and death
giving strength
and courage
opening the gates
of justice
God’s love of all
we give thanks
and rejoice
for God has answered
all of our prayers

How has God answered your prayer?
Do you share your Good News?

Friday in the Octave of Easter

Acts 4:1-12; Psalm 118:1-2,22-27; John 21:1-14

why
this name only
in our salvation
no other
to bring us
healing
and light
mercy
and goodness
rising
from death
He meets us
in the world
providing
abundance
to our meager efforts
He feeds us
a bread of Life
even as we are held
in suspicion
for His power
within us
we cannot deny
the Truth
we have seen

This is the day the Lord has made.
Rejoice and be glad in it.

Why His name only?

Thursday in the Octave of Easter

Acts 3:11-26; Psalm 8:2-9; Luke 24:35-48

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”
look
see Him
and let peace
be with you
He has risen
repentance
and forgiveness
are here
in His name
for all
who can see
a Glory shines
from heaven
over all the earth

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”

Wednesday of the Octave of Easter

Acts 3:1-10; Psalm 105:1-9; Luke 24:13-35

our hearts
are burning
and rejoicing
as we recognize
God among us
sharing
wisdom
life
and bread
that we
may not feel
abandoned
in a world
that often breeds
fear and greed
hatred and murder
He is our beautiful gate
where we return
to health
forgiven
strong
filled with faith
and love

Where is your beautiful gate?
Who meets you at the beautiful gate?
