Fourth Sunday of Easter

Acts 2: 14: 36-41; Psalm 23: 1-6; 1 Peter 2: 20-25; John 10: 1-10

we hear
his voice
we turn
and know
the way
guardian
of our souls
we follow
paths to life
safe
from those
that would
steal our life
we are given
safe passage
verdant pasture
restful waters
even in darkness
we have no fear
for courage
guides us
goodness
and kindness
follow us
passing through
the open gate
we leave
behind
all that is called sin
and enter
God’s will
that is love

Do you hear and know his voice?
Do you follow?

Friday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to Spirit
being touched
deeply
by the Other
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
whole

Have you experienced a bright light of awareness of your place in God?

Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life
yet a stilled heart
opens
to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
our ignorance forgiven
we are blessed with
refuge
shelter
and new life
in God

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?
How are you guided by the Holy Spirit?

Third Sunday of Easter

Acts 2: 14, 22-28; Psalm: 16: 1-2, 7-11; 1 Peter: 17-21; Luke 24: 13-35

hidden
in plain sight
He walks
with us
informs us
guides us
even as we are blind
unknowing
unaware
He sets us on
the path of life
our sojourn
to freedom
in a strange land
delivered
from futility
in one moment
bread raised up
our hearts
and mind open
to the joy
of the Lord
risen
alive
saving us
from all
that leads
to death
even death itself

Do you see him hidden in plain sight?
Do you follow His path?
Have you entered the joy of the Lord?

Saturday in the Second Week of Easter

Feast of St. Mark
1Peter 5:5-14; Psalm 89: 2-17; Mark 16:15-20

speaking the language
of compassion
forever
we will sing
the goodness
of the Lord
we cast
our worries
upon Him
because He cares
for us
and provides
love and strength
and guidance
for all we must face
in the world
that challenges us
everyday

Do you cast your worries upon the Lord?
Do you speak the language of compassion?
