Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Ezekiel 18: 25-28; Psalm 25: 4-9; Phil 2: 1-11; Mt 21: 28-32

in this moment
we have
we see
and embrace
the truth
letting go
of our sins
and deceptions
we are
emptied
and hear
the voice of love
in Christ
united
to all
our joy
is complete
leaving
the hardness
of our heart
our interest
and concern
for others
is ignited
to serve
with love

Do you embrace this moment?
Do you fill it with God’s love?

Friday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is an appointed time
for everything,
and a time for every thing
under the heavens.
A time to be born,
and a time to die;
a time to plant,
and a time to uproot the plant.
A time to kill,
and a time to heal;
a time to tear down,
and a time to build.
A time to weep,
and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn,
and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones,
and a time to gather them;
a time to embrace,
and a time to be far from embraces.
A time to seek,
and a time to lose;
a time to keep,
and a time to cast away.
A time to rend,
and a time to sew;
a time to be silent,
and a time to speak.
A time to love,
and a time to hate;
a time of war,
and a time of peace.

What time is it for you now?

Tuesday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Proverbs 21:1-6,10-13; Psalm 119:1,27,30,34,35,40; Luke 8:19-21

to hear
the Word
and act on it
proves
a heart
set right
in God’s eye
not our own
far from
haughtiness
arrogance
and pride
we listen
and meditate
on the Truth
of God’s will
for love
of all
set before us
living
and breathing
Justice

Are you open to God’s word and act on it?
Do you see God’s will as love for all?
Do you see this as Justice?

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Isaiah 55: 6-9; Psalm 143; Phil 1: 20-27; Mt: 20: 1-16

God’s thoughts
are not
our thoughts
God’s ways
not our ways
gracious
and merciful
slow to anger
abounding
in steadfast
love
do not
begrudge
Gods’s generosity
the last
being first
for all life
is one
and saved
beyond
our knowing
higher than our ways
higher than our thoughts
but near to those
who call

Do you begrudge God’s generosity?
Do you see the ways and thoughts of God?
