Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life
yet a stilled heart
opens
to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
our ignorance forgiven
we are blessed with
refuge
shelter
and new life
in God

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Third Sunday of Easter

Acts 2: 14, 22-28; Psalm: 16: 1-2, 7-11; 1 Peter: 17-21; Luke 24: 13-35

hidden
in plain sight
He walks
with us
informs us
guides us
even as we are blind
unknowing
unaware
He sets us on
the path of life
our sojourn
to freedom
in a strange land
delivered
from futility
in one moment
bread raised up
our hearts
and mind open
to the joy
of the Lord
risen
alive
saving us
from all
that leads
to death
even death itself

Do you see him hidden in plain sight?
Do you follow His path?
Have you entered the joy of the Lord?

Tuesday in the Second Week of Easter

Acts: 4: 32-37; Psalm 93: 1-5; John 3: 7-15

what is it
to be born
from above
of Spirit
as a wind
that blows
where it will
we hear its sound
we feel its effects
yet from where
does it come?
what are
these heavenly things
you will
for us
one mind
one heart
no claim of possessions
as our own
there are no needy
among us
as all is shared
and distributed
according to need
from love

What is this love that demands so much good?
