Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Exodus 17:8-13; Psalm 121:1-8; 2Timothy 3:14-4:2; Luke 18:1-3

we call out
to God
in prayer
day and night
persisting
in faith
persisting
in prayer
persisting
in receiving
wisdom
from God’s word
supporting
one another
in Truth
and Love
welcoming
reproving
correcting
appealing
whether convenient
or inconvenient
so that God
might find
our faith
alive
on earth

Do you persist in prayer day and night?
Do you help another?
Do you let another help you?

Tuesday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Romans 1:16-25; Psalm 19:2-5; Luke 11:37-41

exchanging
the truth of God
for a lie
worshiping
the creature
rather than the creator
our lives
became disordered
until
God’s living word
poured into the day
and the night
imparted knowledge
to ears that would hear
the Spirit
discerning reflections
and thoughts
of the heart
prepares us
for God’s wisdom
and our lives
are changed
and we receive
and give
God’s love

What do you worship?
How do you give alms?

Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Kings 5: 14-17; Ps 98: 1-4; 2 Timothy 2: 8-13; Luke 17: 11-19

listening
to God’s word
and dipping into
God’s flowing waters
we are healed-
seeing ourselves
cleansed
we return
in thanks
blessed with faith
we hold onto
new life
from death
eager for
peace
and the saving power
of love
a song of joy
and praise
breaks
from our lips
at the sight
of justice
revealed
kindness
and faithfulness
remembered

Do you let Him heal your wounds?
Are you grateful for His healing words?
Do you recognize God’s justice as love for all?

Friday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time

Joel 1:13-15-2:1-2; Psalm 9:2-3,6,8,9; Luke 11:15-26

a kingdom
divided
will not stand
so we live
in the undivided heart
singular
in our devotion
to the One
who brings us
Truth
Goodness
and Love
giving thanks
each moment
for the protection
God brings
from our doubts
and conflicts
temptation
and fear
with one sweeping gesture
His Light
of clarity
dawns
and we are free

Do you live with an undivided heart? Do you love your enemies?
