Tuesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Matthew 8:23-27

living in the fear
of our storms
He awakens in us
to quell our fears
with a calmness
that sweeps over
our life
searching our heart
and soul
nothing is left untouched
brought to light
we lose our self reference
and see all in Him
God and Spirit
our guide
we live
in the spaciousness
of grace and mercy
where all is forgiven
and Heaven
rushes in

Do you allow God’s calming of the storms in your life?

Monday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Amos 2:6-10, 13-16; Psalm 50:16-23; Psalm 95:8; Mt 8:18-22

what is this
sacrifice of praise
we are to offer?
is it for the God
who needs none
or ourselves
to remember
who we are
created
to live
in the Spirit of Love
for ourselves
and another
heeding
the words of the prophets
to not give in
to temptations
of evil
that harden our hearts
but to listen
to God’s voice
that offers peace

What voice do you listen to?
What is your sacrifice of praise?

Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Kings 19:16-21; Psalm 16: 1-11; Galatians 51, 13-18; Luke 9:51-62

entering
the homelessness
of Christ
no den
no nest
He is our home
our following
we enter
the place
of love
with the Holy Spirit
knowing no boundaries
of Samaritan
of flesh
of law
but enjoined
to freedom
we follow
at any moment
love’s need
His calling
hand to the plow
we do not look back
only to the freedom
the path to life
our refuge
our counsel
this
we serve
and enter
the joy
of the Lord

Do you experience the homelessness of Christ?
Do you answer loves call each moment?
Do you find your home in God?

Saturday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Lamentations 2:2,10-14,18-19; Psalm 74:1-2,3-7,20-21; Luke 2:41-51

pouring out our hearts
like water
in the Presence of God
we seek
the peace
of the Holy Spirit
as we watch the violence
of the land
and the hunger
of the people
for Goodness
seeking the answer
in the temples
and through the prophets
we strain our ears
to hear
the voice of the Spirit
that unites
not the law
that divides

Where do you seek peace?
How do you hear the Spirit that unites with love?

Monday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

2Kings 17:5-8,13-18; Psalm 60:3-5, 12-13; Hebrew 4:12; Matthew 7:1-5

what is this
living word of God
effective
and able to discern
reflections
and thoughts
of the heart
cautioning
our judgements
that divide us
from one another
blinding us to
our own faults
calling us
to wisdom
as we pause
and see ourselves
in God’s mercy
and grace

Who guides your judgements of yourself and others?
Where do you receive clarity and wisdom?

The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ

Genesis 14: 18-20; Psalm 110: 1-4; Corinthians 11:23-26; Luke 9: 11-17

eyes
raised up
to heaven
 blessing
 our scarcity
we become
enough
through His life
to feed ourselves
and others

 through His love
as a new covenant
is written in our hearts

we remember
who we are

in our hunger
we are fed by Him
in the bread we eat
in the cup we drink
and
the life we share

Do you see God’s love in every meal?
Do you share God’s love through all you do?
