by some evil
scorched away

by the world’s
anxiety
yet those that fall
into the rich soil

bear the fruit
of God’s love

a house divided
and know
it cannot stand
praying
for a unity
that seems to elude us
yet glimpsed by eyes
that reach beyond
self-interest
and willfulness

called by faith
aligned with mercy
conceived in
a Holy Spirit
of wisdom
and truth
a path opens
and forgiveness
showers us
with the grace
to see each other
held
in God’s Holy Spirit
of love

Do you see a house divided against itself?
What will heal the divisions?
Who do you call upon for healing?

the kindness
compassion
and goodness of God
we retreat from the darkness
to His calling
turning from ways
that cause division
to see one another
anew
in the eyes
of purest Love
where all things
