JL 4:12-21; Psalm 97:1-12; Luke 11:27-28

in the valley
of decision
we hear
the voice
of God
and follow
we are glad in it
and give thanks
for darkness
and clouds
may be
all around
but His Light
dawns
in justice
upon all

Are you in a valley of decision?
What do you hear?

JL 1:13-15-2:1-2; Psalm 9:2-3,6,8,9; Luke 11:15-26

a kingdom
divided
will not stand
so we live
in the undivided heart
singular
in our devotion
to the One
who brings us
Truth
Goodness
and Love
giving thanks
each moment
for the protection
God brings
from our doubts
and confliction
temptation
and fear
with one sweeping gesture
His Light
of clarity
dawns
and we are free

Do you live with an undivided heart?

Mal 3:13-20; Psalm 1:1-6: Luke 11:5-13

delight
in the law
of the Lord
the law
of love
that gives Life
to all who ask
who live
in its ways
turning from the proud
and insolent
to the One
who knows how
to give good things
persistent
in faith
all our hope
is in the God of love

Who do you seek?
What have you found?

Jonah 4:1-11; Psalm 86:8-10; Luke 11:1-4

our daily
bread
your will

for love
among us
as we
experience
your mercy

forgiveness
and kindness
and give
what is
given
listening
to prophets
we change
our ways
we see
your city
healed
as your love
unfolds
and give thanks

Do you hear the voice of the prophets?
Do you forgive as you have been forgiven?

A Prayer for Conversion
Jonah 3:1-10; Psalm 130:1-8; Luke 10:38-42

called
to change our minds
and hearts
we sit
at the feet
of Truth
and Wisdom
leaving
our anxiety
and worry
to hear
the voice
of Love
answering
our cry
for help
with words
that bring
Hope
new Life
and Peace

Are you willing to change?
Do you dare leave your anxiety and worry?
Do you sit at the feet of Wisdom and Truth?

Jonah 1:1-2:2, 11; John 2:3-5,8; Luke 10:25-37

called
to speak
we run
from His words
wreaking havoc
on all those around us
until left
in darkness
we cry out
and are heard
prophetic words
are spoken
prophetic deeds
are done
we are filled
with compassion
helping those in need
opening the door
to God’s light
and love

Do you run from you calling?
Who answers when you cry out for help?

Isaiah 5: 1-7; Psalm 80: 9-20; Phil 4: 6-9; Mt 21: 33-43

dry land
overgrown
with thorns
and briers
laying
in ruin
lost
to their Creator
living
by their own
corrupt law
not by all
that is true
honest
admirable
decent
virtuous
and worthy
of praise
killing
what would
bring life
setting a
path of destruction

save us O Lord
save what your right hand has planted
if your face
would shine upon us
then we would
be safe

Does God stand guard over your mind and heart?
Do you present your needs to God…dismissing all anxiety from your mind?

Prayer for Troubled Times
Phil 4:6-8

“Brothers and sisters:
Have no anxiety at all,
but in everything,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
make your requests
known to God.
Then the peace of God
that surpasses
all understanding
will guard your hearts
and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true,
whatever is honorable,
whatever is just,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is gracious,
if there is any excellence
and if there is anything
worthy of praise,
think about these things.
Keep on doing
what you have learned
and received
and heard
and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you.”

Bar 4:5-12, 27-29; Psalm 69:33-37; Luke 10: 17-24

with
all our hearts
we seek
that which
he calls us to
ground
of our being
from where
all goodness
flows

not in our deeds
but in our
faith
comes our joy
in what we see
and what we hear
that reveals
the face of God
as love

What do you see?
What do you hear?

Bar 1:15-22; Psalm 79:1-9; Luke 10:13-16

turning
from God’s way
of Truth
seeking love
and power
in all the wrong places
we leave a trail
of destruction
and our lives
become disordered
until we hear
a voice calling us back to life
to see God’s way
of truth
of light
of love

His cross
a path
leading us home

What do you see in His cross?
How does it lead you back to life?

Neh 8:1-12; Psalm 19:8-11; Luke 10: 1-12

sent out
with nothing
but the love
and peace
of God
whose precepts
are perfect
trustworthy
right
enlightening
and clear
although lambs
among wolves
with no money
no sack
no sandals
we have all
we need
for the harvest
we labor
rejoicing
in the Lord
who is our strength

What do you need for your journey?
What are the things you carry?
