Mark 7:31-37

Opened
to God’s healing touch
upon our ears
our mouth
and our hardened heart
we hear His voice of love
guiding us
in new ways
of Being

away from deception
away from hatred
and weapons of war
to kindness
generosity
and peace

Have your ears been opened to the voice of God?
What do you hear?
How do you act on it?

Genesis 2:18-25; Psalm 128:1-5; Jas 1:21; Mark 7:24-30

welcome
the word
planted in you
persist
in asking
and seeking-
for healing
will come
know that
you are never alone
you are always
in Love’s Presence
even when Love
feels far away
even when
anger and deceit
are upon us
be still
and know
for healing
will come

Are you persistent in your prayer?
Can you be still and know?

Genesis 2:4-9, 15-17; Psalm 104:1-2, 27-30; Mark 7:14-23

the Spirit
sent forth
we are created
in breath
with hearts
intended for love
what turn
would cause
a heart
to greed
and deceive
envy
and betray
with arrogance
what tree
what fruit
what choice
of heart and mind
leads the soul astray
what angel
heralds
a return

Do you hear the Spirit’s call to trust the God who created you in love?

Genesis 1: 20-2:4; Psalm 8: 4-9; Mark 7: 1-13

God of Life
giving
in abundance
blessing
filling
teeming
with Goodness
giving us
dominion
and freedom
to choose
life or death
to have
reverence for
or to exploit
creation

called into
God’s image
and likeness
Father and Mother
Of care
we choose
Life
and create
“on earth
as it is
in heaven”

What do you choose?

Genesis 1:1-19; Psalm 104: 1-12, 24 and 35; Mark 6:53-56

you come
with Light
to heal
as in
first Creation
from formless mass
and dark abyss
came Light

water and wind
sky and land
seed and plant
sun and stars
all blessed as Good

we begin again
in your Light
in your touch
a new creation
in Love

How do you begin again?

Isaiah 6:1-8; Ps 138: 1-8; 1Cor 15: 1-11; Luke 5: 1-11

we are struck
with awe
by who
you are
and who we are
created
in you
we feel
the smallness
of our being
our undeserving
nature
yet
you call
and lift us
to you

hot ember
on our unclean lips
angel of God
you free
our mouth
for words
of love
you ask
“who shall I send?”
risen
in your love
no longer afraid
we say
“Here I am.
I shall go”

Have you felt the hot ember of God upon your lips?
The awe of God’s presence?
The peace that God brings?

Heb 13:15-21; Psalm 23:1-6; Mark 6:30-34

our hearts
moved
by the Spirit
not neglecting
to do good
and share
what we have
we listen
for the voice
that will lead
us through
the valley
of our fears
into the Light
of Love
healing divisions
inspired
by His words
refreshing
our soul
we are no longer lost
to ourselves
or each other

What voice do you hear?
What story guides your life?

Hebrew 12:1-8; Psalm 27:1-9: Mark 6:14-29

embraced
by the Holy Spirit
we let Love
continue
content
with what we have
being
welcoming
and mindful
of all
faithful
in all things
and make no promises
we cannot keep
following
the saving Light
of Grace
we have a refuge
in times of trouble
a home
in times of peace

Is the Lord your light and your salvation?
Is God a refuge in times of trouble?
Do you gain strength through the Holy Spirit?

Hebrews 12:18:24; Psalm 48: 2-11; Mark 6:7-13

sent out
two by two
no money
no food
only their Faith
and a walking stick
they lived
on the kindness
of strangers
who opened
their hearts
and homes
to Good News
seeing
a new way
to live
not in fear
but in the love
written
in their hearts

What do you carry on your journey?
What is written in your heart?

Hebrew 12:4-7,11-15; PS 103:1-2, 13-14, 17-18A; John 10:27

let no bitter root
spring up
and cause trouble
through which
we may be lead
astray
we strive
for peace
with everyone
from a kindness
that is from eternity
Holy Spirit
provider
and guide
of God’s love
this Presence
this ground
of our being
here we take root
and grow deeply
into our faith
resisting all
that would
uproot us

Has a bitter root sprung up in your heart?
How can it be uprooted?
