Wisdom 9:13-18; Psalm 90: 3-6; 12-17′ Phil 9-10, 12-17; Luke 14: 25-33

struck by
God’s wisdom
and love
we relinquish
all
we would
possess
that means
nothing
without God’s Truth
and love
arising
at dawn
anew
daybreak fills us
with His kindness
our burdens
are lifted
we shout
for joy
and gladness
all the days of our life

Is your mind weighed down with earthly concerns?
Could you leave all you would possess to follow?

1Cor 4:6-15; Psalm 145:17-21; Luke 6:1-5

calling
upon Him
we descend
into Truth
beyond
our pride
or doing
or our own
construction
of reality
we are life
given
live
received
becoming free
of all
that restricts
our love
of God’s life
flowing
through us

Do you call upon God for Life?

1Cor 4:1-5; Psalm 37:3-6,27-28,39-40; Luke 5:33-39

bringing
to light
what is hidden
in darkness
a new way
of being
that will not
contain the old
within
the security
of God’s being
a new justice
will dawn
on us
with a light
authentic
clear
and pure

Do you resist a new way of being?

1Cor 3:18-23; Psalm 24:1-6; Luke 5:1-11

we cast
our nets
deep into
our soul
at His command
to see
a harvest
much greater
that we could ever
imagine
beyond reason
there is a place
of blessing
and imperishable
nourishment
that provides
all we need

Do you accept God’s invitation?

1Cor 3:1-9; Psalm 33:12-21; Luke 4:38-44

one Spirit
in which
we live
far from
the jealousies
and rivalries
of the world
a seed
planted
within our soul
and grown
into God’s presence
our hearts
are healed
of all infirmity
and division
as we are
recollected
in God’s love

Do you know yourself as recollected in God?

1Cor2:10-16; Psalm 145:8-14; Luke 4:31-37

Spirit of God
speaking
His word
we hear
of something
beyond
our human wisdom
yet with us
a goodness
a mercy
a kindness
that reveals
a power
and strength
to set any demon
on its way
lifting us up
with His Love

Do you know the spirit of God?

Sirach 3:17-18,20,28-29; Psalm 68:4-11; Hebrews 12:18-24; Luke 14:1,7-14

exalting
ourselves
we reach
beyond
our need
striving for
favored seats
and reward
we forsake
God’s justice
and love
seeking
into things
beyond
our strength
yet humbled
we are
showered with
beautiful rains
and make a home
in God’s goodness
city of the living God
we leave
our fear
and trembling
gloomy darkness
and storm
and open
to Jesus’
saving power
saving love

What is humility?
What do you seek?

1Cor 1:26-31; Psalm 33:12-13,18-19;20-21; Matthew 25:14-30

beyond
the God
of wailing
and grinding
of teeth
we behold
a greater power
of love
who delivers us
from death
preserves us
in famine
who is our help
our shield
God of love
we see mercy
and forgiveness
and surrender all
to our infinite source
and creator

What God embraces you?

1Cor 1:17-25; Psalm 33:1-5,10-11; Matthew 25:1-13

what wisdom
in this cross
this crucified one
this Son of God
accepting
a death
in a silence
beyond
our ways
of knowing
appearing foolish
as we seek
escape
yet
standing ready
at the door
we know
in faith
He will
appear again
as our hearts
are opened
and flooded
with the light
of God’s love
eternal
that he brings

Is the door of your heart opened to His light and love?

1Cor 1:1-9; Psalm 145:2-7; Matthew 24:42-51

we hear
his words
to stay awake
for his coming
is now
in every
spriritual gift
given
for our blessing
and blessing others
day to day
God’s goodness
unsearchable
in the infinite ways
it is imparted
we sing
of God’s justice
and mercy
kindness
compassion
and love

Are you awake to God’s word
