Hebrews 6:10-20; Psalm 111:1-10; Mark 2:23-28

reaching
beyond
the veil
we find
an anchor
for our soul
within a realm
of blessing
and hope
a refuge
from all we are
reluctant to face
inspiring courage
and strength
to say
and do
what we must
to insure
a kingdom of love
compassion
and care

Where is the anchor for your soul?

Hebrew 5:1-10; Psalm 110:1-4; Mark 2:18-22

what power
the fast
a poverty
of our own creating
to open our eyes
to what is
already there
and why the fast
when He
is already present?

what new wine skins
are we to have
are we to be
to accommodate
this new wine
symbol
of a love
and friendship
not yet fully known
not yet fully lived

what priest of power
can raise us up
to see beyond
the confusion
of our own enmities
some offering
to expose to us
the divinity
of our being
except the one
that lives
already
in our own heart

Where is your priest?

Isaiah 49: 3, 5-6; Psalm 40-2, 4, 7-10; Cor 1: 1-13; John 1: 29-34

Holy Spirit
your law
written in our heart
it is our delight
to do
your will
to serve
your love
formed in
our mother’s womb
glorious light of God
you are our strength
here we are
to do
your will
your song
upon our lips
sacrifice
oblation
holocaust
and sin-offering
you seek not
but your will
is your love
your justice
a light
to the nations

How do you live God’s will?
Do you know God’s law written in your heart?
Does it guide your life?

Hebrew 4:12-16; Psalm 19:8-15; Mark 2:13-17

called
to follow
the one
who knows
how to live
without sin
no moment
separate
from God
always able
to hear
the Holy Spirit’s
word
living
and effective
sharper than
any two-edged sword
penetrating
even between
soul and spirit
discerning
reflections
and thoughts
of the heart
guiding us
through
the noise of temptations
to hear
the voice
of God

Who do you follow?

Hebrews 4:1-5,11; Psalm 78:3-8; Mark 2:1-12

lowered
into
His Presence
we seek
our healing
with the help
of others
their faith
surrounding us
as we encounter
the Spirit
that raises us up
to walk together
each a strength
to the other
with steadfast hearts
in God’s love
and compassion

Do allow others faith to help you?
Are you strength for others?

Hebrews 3:7-13; Psalm 95: 6-11; Mark 1:40-45

we bring
our sickness
our sorrow
our confusion
to God
and we wait
patient
for the moment
of healing
that is working
in the background
of our lives
praying
not to harden
our hearts
to the word
when it comes
missing
the moment
to enter
God’s presence
healing
and rest

Do you harden your heart to God’s word?

Heb 2:14-18; Psalm 105:1-9; Mark 1:29-39

with
all simplicity
he saw
a need
and reached out
his hand
healing
what needed
to be healed
teaching
what needed
to be taught
sharing
a life
that came to him
through prayer
fulfilling
his purpose
in God

How do you fulfill your purpose in God?

Hebrews 2:5-23; Psalm 8:2-9; Mark 1:21=28

by some
authority
He speaks
and the demons
that know Him
flee
and the healingsĀ come
who is this author
of God’s power
emergent one
of love
and justice
that we know
when we see Him
who we find
after seeking
who demands All
as there can be
no partiality
in God

By what authority do you live?

Isaiah 42:1-4;,6-7; Acts 10:34-38; Psalm 29:1-10; Matthew 3:13-17

the skies
open
the Spirit
descends
like a dove
and one
is anointed
who will
show us
our own

our God
who shows
no partiality
only drawing all
to Goodness
and Love
who will
hear His voice
and open
their eyes
to see his Glory

Are you drawn to God’s goodness and glory?

Isaiah 60: 1-6; Psalm 72: 1-13; Ephesians 3:2-6; Mt 2:1-12

stars and dreams
guided them
men who knew
their world
in and out
reading
streams
of light
streams
of sleeping thoughts
to find
salvation
knowing
as they did
the promised
would come
they brought gifts
to the giver
paying homage
to the justice
that would flower
from seed of peace-
born afflicted
and poor
yet they
rejoiced
at hope
radiant
with His light
born
into darkness
hearts throb
and overflow
with love

Do you follow the stars to God’s love?
Do you pour out your treasure?
