Wisdom 2:1-11; Psalm 34:17-23; John 7:1-2, 10-30

in our
broken-heartedness
we turn
to God’s promise
of Presence
and comfort
knowing
our Source
of Peace
is deeper
that the world
can give
embracing
the Silence
that leads us
away from the chaos
of the world
to the place
where our tears
are dried
and Life begins
anew

Can you wait in the patience of silence?

Exodus 32:7-14; Psalm 106: 19-23; John 5:31-47

without
a ready heart
we are blind
to the Truth
when it comes
ears closed
to the voice
who will guide us
we are lost
creating images
of no lasting
value
that we worship

then
a voice
crying in the wilderness
a burning
and shining lamp
preparing the way
for the one
who will lead us home
to God’s love
in our heart

Do you hear the voice in the wilderness?

Isaiah 49:8-18; Psalm 1458-18; John 5:17-30

calling
to the Lord
from famine
darkness
and thirst
we see a Light
that speaks
to our courage
and strength
to rise up
and live
within
God’s kindness
mercy
and compassion
quelling anger
with patience
and opening
our eyes
to God’s holy works
and the sacredness
that lives
and breathes
within
and among us

What do you hear when you call out to God?

Ez 47:1-9,12; Psalm 46:2-9; John 5:1-16

waiting
for healing
He will come
and ask
“Do you want to be well?”
What will you say?

waiting
for healing
He will come
and say
“Take up your mat and walk.”
What will you do?

Isaiah 65:17-21; Psalm 30:2-13; John 4:43-54

embracing
the promise
of joy
and delight
the sound
of song
and the end
of weeping
we seek
and follow
the Light
of Christ
as a path
of healing
raising us
from a culture
of death
to one of new life

Do you hear the promise?
Do you believe the promise?

Samuel 16: 1-13; Psalm 23, 1-6; Eph 5: 8-14; John 9: 1-41

not as man sees
but God
beyond
appearance
into the heart
with the Lord
our shepherd
we shall
not want
and our eyes
shall be opened
to see
beyond
the law
beyond
the Sabbath
beyond
the ritual
to the Truth
the light
awakening us
from sleep
as we pass
from death
to life

Are you awake?
Do you see with His light?
Do you see beyond the law, the ritual and the Sabbath?

Jeremiah 7:23-28; Psalm 95:1-9; Luke 11:14-23

today
we hear
His voice
and open
our hearts
singing joyfully
as we know
who we are
in the undivided
love of God
treasuring
the words
of the prophets
and the healing touch
of Christ
living always
in God’s presence
in our heartbeat
and breath

Do you open your heart to God’s voice?

Dt 4:5-9; Psalm 147:12-20; Matthew 5:17-19

bringing
Light
with His living word
fulfilling
a promise
and covenant
we are changed
by our desire
to follow
a way
that insures
a justice
and goodness
for all
each act
an effort
not to forget
the love
who breathes
our breath

Are you changed by your desires?

Dn 3:25,34-43; Psalm 25:4-0; Matthew 18:21-35

our hearts
troubled
by the ways
of the world
we look to God
and are answered
by the Holy Spirit
who lifts us up
we remember
the ways
of kindness
goodness
compassion
and truth
always merciful
to the contrite heart
we forgive
as we are forgiven
and embrace
the Light

Where do you look when your heart is troubled?

2Samuel 7:4-16; Psalm 89:2-5,27,29; Matthew 1:16-24

calling
into Being
what does not exist
believing
hoping
against hope
we see
God’s dream for us
coming true
in the fulfillment
of love
and peace
and kindness
accepting
the Holy Spirit’s
invitation
to new life
and the devotion
of care
for all
that we see

Do you accept the call to new life?
