Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6:22-29

we follow
not for bread
alone
but for the bread
of Life
for Truth
for Love

the law
that lives
within
our hearts
and minds
from His Word
radiate within

meditating
on His Life
and God’s wondrous deeds
all falsehood
is removed
and the path
is clear

What gives you clarity?
What calls you to follow Him?

Acts 5:27-32; 40-44; Psalm 30: 2-6, 11-13; Rev 5: 11-14; John 21: 1-19

beloved disciples
we know
His voice
raised from death
curses
and hate-
our nets casts forth
alone
in darkness
are fruitless
but in His light
and word
we are filled
we follow
unable to be silent
of the one who
has rescued us
and loved us
we risk all
we give all
by holy fires
we are fed
forgiven for denials
we love
and love
and love
feeding
tending
caring
forgiving
even unto death-
our mourning is
changed to dancing
while all creation
praises His love

Do you hear God’s voice in the stranger?
Do you forgive ourselves and turn to love?
Do you praise God at all times?

Feasts of Saints Philip and James, Apostles
1 Cor 15:1-8; Psalm 19:2-3,4-5; John 14:6-14

day pours out
the word to day
and night to night
imparting knowledge
to our minds
and heart
we see
the way
of Truth
and the light
of God’s love
and goodness
believing
we follow
asking in the name
of Truth
that healing
and peace
may come
to all the earth

Do you see the light of God’s goodness and love?
Do you experience God’s healing and peace?

Acts 5: 34-42; Psalm 27: 1, 4, 13-14; John 6: 1-15

living
in the house
of the Lord
we gaze
on loveliness
a welcome
refuge
we live
in a courage
not our own
a light
shared
a salvation
given
from God
it cannot
be destroyed
we have
all we need
for each other
we give thanks
and share

Where do you live?
Do you share what you have?

Acts 5: 27-33; Psalm 34: 2-20; John 3:31-36

alive
within me
I know
your voice
your love
your guidance
my crushed spirit
you saved
close to my
broken heart
you healed me
you heard
my cry
and answered
I take
refuge in you
you guard me
from evil
a prayer
of gratefulness
for you is
always
on my lips

How is God alive in you?

Acts 5:17-26; Psalm 34:2-9; John 3:16-21

in our poverty
we are rescued
with Truth
with Light
in our darkness
revealing
am imperishable Glory
that lives
and breathes
within each
created thing
for any and all
who have eyes to see
even the sight itself a gift
we have no claim to own
called only to be radiant
with the joy
in God’s justice
God’s love of all

Can you see it?

Acts: 4: 32-37; Acts: 4: 32-37; Psalm 93: 1-5; John 3: 7-15

what is it
to be born
from above
of Spirit
as a wind
that blows
where it will
we hear its sound
we feel its effects
yet from where
does it come?
what are
these heavenly things
you will
for us
one mind
one heart
no claim of possessions
as our own
there are no needy
among us
as all is shared
and distributed
according to need
from love

What is this love that demands so much good?

Acts 4:23-31: Psalm 2: 1-9; John 3: 1-8

each day
as the sun
rises
we are
born again
renewed
by His Spirit
given
our daily bread
to go forth
in love
and peace
even as we meet
resistance
in hardened hearts
greed
hatred
and temptations
we are confident
in His Presence
to guide
and sustain us

What sustains you?

Acts 5:12-16; Psalm 118:2-4,13-15;22-24; Revelation 1:9-19; John 20:19-31

unseen
we believe
in the Holy Spirit
given
in communion
for our sake
strength
and courage
as we face
inevitable trials
and suffer
in this boundary
of time
we believe
in a promise given
a sacrifice made
a faith held
in a place for us
imperishable
undefiled
and unfading
a heaven
for us
opened by
an infinite
divine mercy
a place of peace

Are your

Are you open to the Spirit’s strength and courage for through your your struggles and doubts?
Are you open to Divine Mercy?

Acts 4: 1-12; Psalm 118: 1-27; John 21: 1-14

again
and again
you come to us
showing yourself
alive
in our lives
some mercy
some healing
some forgiveness
that speaks
of your Presence
that lives
beyond
your cross
beyond your death
a grace
that announces
aha!
yes!
this is the Christ
with us
God with us
Holy Spirit with us
this is the love
upon which we build
our lives

Upon what do you build your life?
