Exodus 12:37-42; Psalm 136:1, 10-15, 23-24; Matthew 12:13-21

in the night vigil
with the Lord
we feel mercy
upon us
reassurance
and freedom
arise
in our souls
from all our anxieties
as our faith
is returned
to the source
of all life
and goodness
and love
we give thanks
for God’s peace
and enter
God’s rest

Where do you find peace in the world’s chaos?

Exodus 11:10-12:14; Psalm 116:12-18; Matthew 12:1-8

desiring
mercy
not sacrifice
we are lead
to act
with freedom
from God’s
unconditional love
giving food
shelter
comfort
forgiveness
and kindness
offering
ourselves
to what is needed

How do you respond to the need for mercy in the world?

Exodus 3:13-20; Psalm 105:1, 5,8-9,24-27; Matthew 11:28-30

with a promise
of rest
from our burdens
we are yoked
with one
who knows
where peace resides
deeper
than the world
can offer
a love
beyond
conditions
and judgement
a love
deep within
that says
“I Am”

Where does your love reside?
How do live out this love in a world of chaos? Are you angry at what you see happening in the world? Does peace live beyond what you can feel with injustice you see? Where is God in this?

Exodus 3:1-12; Psalm 103:1-7; Matthew 11:25-27

with
child-like
wonder
and awe
we see you
as your light
reveals
God’s splendor
to us
the fire hidden
in every
being
and leaf
and grain
of sand
shimmering
with a love
we cannot
refuse
to accept
or give

Do you see with child-like wonder?
Do you experience God’s kindness and mercy?

Exodus 2:1-15; Psalm 3,14,30-34; Matthew 11:20-24

resisting
warning
prophecy
and woe
we persist
in our ways
finding ourselves devoid
of a moral compass
we are lost
and running
until God
in infinite mercy
and grace
reveals
an irresistible love
that becomes our justice
and changes everything

Have you been touched by God’s irresistible love?
How has that changed you?

Exodus 1:8-14,22; Psalm 124:1-8; Matthew 10:34-11:1

severed
from all
that would keep us
from God’s goodness
we surrender
into a great mystery
this cross
this dying
so that we might
rise again
in all that gives life
Holy Spirit
renewer of all
we find our place
in your guidance
your strength
bringing us
to a greater love

Do you say yes to God’s invitation to a greater love?

Dt. 30:1-14; Psalm 69:14-37; Colossians 1:15-20; Luke 10: 25-37

before all else
beyond all else
within all
there is Christ
image of
the invisible God
we are in awe
at the thought–
the reality
of Him
makes us soar
as we see
from mountaintops
all that is
and our hearts
are brought
to love–
God’s law
written within
we love
with all our heart
and soul
and strength
and mind
alive
within us
we proclaim
from our lips
as we travel roads
with this love
answering the need
for mercy
to all
who are in need

How do you experience Christ who is before, beyond and within all?
Do you take God’s law of love into your heart?
Do you take this love to your neighbor?

Genesis 49:29-50:15-26; Psalm 105:1-7; Mt 10: 24-33

forgiven
our soul
is set free
from all
that binds it
in time
knowing
the protection
of God
we let go
of our fear
walking
each moment
in the practice
of God’s presence
where our soul
resides
even as our bones
are buried
in our homeland
our Spirit
lives on
in God’s love

Do you let yourself be forgiven?
Do you forgive?
Do you feel God’s protection?

Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30; Psalm 37:3-40; Mt 10:16-23

leaving all
on nothing but faith
we are guided
by the inner light
of Christ
returning
to our source
all becomes
illuminated
by God’s infinite love
providing
all we need
for the day-to-day
in sickness
and health
joy
and sorrow
famine
or feast
we live
in the joy
of knowing

Where do you live?
What guides your life?

Reflect on todays scriptures in your life today

  • Are you facing a personal “Egypt”? A move, a decision, a conversation, or even just a new stage of life that feels uncertain?
  • Have you felt the cost of speaking or living in truth? Like a sheep among wolves?
  • Are you unsure what to say, or how to act, in difficult circumstances?

Today’s readings invite us to trust three things:

  1. God speaks in the night—just as Jacob heard in the darkness.
➤ Create space for quiet. God still calls your name.
  2. The Spirit gives us the words when we need them.
➤ You don’t have to rehearse everything ahead of time. Stay close to the Spirit.
  3. You are never alone.
➤ Whether you are going “down to Egypt” or standing before hostility, the Lord goes with you.

Genesis 44:18-21; Psalm 105:16-27; Matthew 10:7-15

we travel
carrying nothing
but Spirit
giving all
that we has been received
at no cost
until Truth
is revealed
and all is forgiven
we are set free
cured
and cleansed
the famine ends
in the abundance
of knowing
who we are in God’s love

Who are you?
