knowing
the poverty
of our breath
we are rescued
by the love
of the One
who breathes us
each breath
a reminder
that we are not alone
but a part
of the wonder
of creation
rejoicing in
the Holy Spirit
who guides us
we are filled
with profound peace
a Spirit of Wisdom
and Understanding
a Spirit of Counsel
and of Strength
a Spirit of Knowledge
and fear of the Lord
that comes
from knowing Him

How do you experience “fear of the Lord”?
How do you experience God’s love?
How do you experience God’s peace?

a faith
that listens-
a faith
that believes-
welcomes
God’s word
and we follow
rejoicing
in our return
to the One
who shelters us
heals us
and brings us
peace
praying
for our good
and the good of others
we live
in the Light
of God’s love

now is the hour
to wake
from sleep
rejoice
and cast off
deeds of darkness
beat our swords
into plowshares
and pruning hooks
for we
shall go
to the house
of the Lord
where peace
shall be with us-
quarreling
lusting
and jealousy
past
we put on
the light of Christ
radiant with love

Are you ready for peace and light?
Are you willing to shed your weapons?
Are you awake and watchful for the presence of God?

whose decrees
are trustworthy
and true
giving wisdom
and rejoicing
to our heart-
more precious
than any other thing
we leave all
behind
and begin
each day
anew
with Him

Philippians 4:6-9

Do not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true,
whatever is noble,
whatever is right,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent
or praiseworthy—
think about such things…
and give thanks.

as all that is true

sun and moon
stars of heaven
every shower and dew
all the winds

cold and chill
give glory
and praise
to God

we will stay
with His voice
of love
and for peace
enduring
to God’s end
for justice

new
in Him
things visible
and invisible
thrones
dominations
principalities
and powers
are reconciled
we rejoice
in the house
of the Lord
far from mocking
far from killing
gone from death
we are
remembered
in Him
as peace
flows through
the blood
of the cross
we rise
and embrace
paradise
with Him

Can you see peace flow through the cross?
Can you see your being through Him?
Can you see with His light?
