Romans 13:8-10; Psalm 112:1-0; Luke 14:25-33

owe nothing
but love
to one another
giving generously
and mercifully
from God’s love
knowing
we own nothing
in our possessions
we live
in the light
of God’s grace
that dawns
through our darkness
God’s commands
showing the way

Do you live in God’s light?

Luke 14:15-24

emptied
and humbled
not grasping
at God
in greedy
selfish ways
we open
our hearts
to God’s invitation
with gratitude
for what is being offered
a place
at the table
where we share
in a love
and peace
and joy
beyond the imaginings
of a divided world

Can you imagine the love and peace being offered by God?
Do you accept God’s invitation?

Romans 11:29-36; Psalm 69:30-31, 33-34, 36; Luke 14:12-14

an irrevocable call
God’s gifts
are everlasting
a love and mercy
that has no end
and reaches
into the depths
of our mind
and heart
and being
answering us
as we call out
for help
we hear
the voice
of Love
and reach out
to all in need

Do you hear God’s voice of love?
How do you respond?

Wisdom 11:22-12:3; Ps 145 1-2, 8-14; 2 Thess 1: 1-22, Luke 19: 1-10

imperishable spirit
of all things
compassionate
kind
lover of souls
you spare
all things
grain
from a balance
a drop
of morning dew
before you
the smallness
of our being
cries out
we climb
to sycamore heights
to hear
to see
a sight
of Him who seeks
to save us
He calls
us down
we follow
the faith
of Abraham

Do you seek the God who seeks you?
Do you accept the gift?
Do you give the gift given you?

Solemnity of All Saints
Rv 7:2-4,9-14; Psalm 24:1-6; 1Jn 3:1-3; Mt 5:1-12

seeking
the face
of God
we find Him
in the One
who comes
in blessing
of our poverty
of Spirit
our mourning
our meekness
our hunger
and thirst
for righteousness
peace
and purity
guiding us
through times
of great distress
we rest
from our burdens
in Him

Where do you find God?

All Soul’s Day
Wisdom 3:1-9; Psalm 23; Romans 5:5-11; John 6:37-40

wisdom comes
bearing
a love
we cannot
refuse
keeper
of our soul
guiding us
on the right path
even as we walk
through a valley of death
only goodness
and kindness
shall follow
as we trust
in Him
and know
Truth
in Him

Have you experienced a Love you cannot refuse?

Romans 8: 31-39; Psalm 109: 21-22,26-27, 30-31; Luke 13: 31-35

a certain
steadfast
knowledge
within
of our God
with us
through
all things
in a love
that no one
can separate
us from
no distress
no anguish
death
or peril
no present
or future thing
we rest
secure

Do you live in the certain knowledge of God’s presence?
Does it stay with you through all things?

Romans 8:26-30; Psalm 13:4-6; Luke 13:22-30

Spirit
groaning within
searches our heart
knowing
our intentions
and interceding
for good
even as the gate narrows
we are called
to enter
striving
with the strength
of the Holy Spirit
to know
and be known
by God

What voice is your guide?
Do you know God?
Does God know you?

Romans 8:18-25; Psalm 126:1-6; Luke 13:18-21

our faith
a mustard seed
so small
yet planted
in the rich soil
of God’s love
grows
to embrace
God’s love
of all

even as
we groan
through
our labor pains
we rejoice in
the new life
it brings

Do you rejoice in the new life faith brings?

Romans 8:12-17; Psalm 68: 2,4,6,7,20-21; Luke 13:10-17

set free
of our
infirmity
and fear
we stand
in the saving
love
knowing
the Holy Spirit
that bears
witness
with our spirit
informing us
who we are
one in God’s family
caring
for one another
suffering
with one another
rejoicing
with one another

Is your home in God?
