James 3:13-18; Psalm 19:8-15; Mark 9:14-29

through prayer
we let go
of jealousy
and selfish ambition
where disorder lives
and enter
the wisdom
of God
where
there is peace
and mercy
gentleness
sincerity
and constant
love
healing us
and giving
joy
to our hearts

Have you let go of jealousy and selfish ambition?
Have you entered the peace of God?

Psalm 23: 1-6

within us
among us
we see you
and walk
with you
even in a valley
of darkness
you are
at our side
our guide
our companion
only goodness
and kindness
follow
with you
you give us
eyes of mercy

Do you see through the eyes of mercy?

Mark 8:34-9:1

what self
denied
what life
is lost
what cross
taken up
who do we
follow
when the nation
confounds
the name
of Him
who came
to save
what is the design
of God’s heart
as we are called
to a life
that is true
and good

“What profit is there for one to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?”

Mark 8:27-33

Jesus asked
“Who do people
say I am?”

Who do you say he is?

James 1:19-27; Psalm 15:2-5; Mark 8:22-26

quick to hear
slow to speak
slow to anger
we become
doers
of the Word
living in His perfect law
of freedom
God’s love
for all
that holds our tongue
from anything
but His goodness
healing our blindness
to God’s creative presence
that works
tirelessly
among us

Do you appreciate God’s creative presence around you?
How do you respond?
Are you a “doer” of God’s word?

Mark 8:14-21

what leaven
for our bread
but God’s Goodness
do we not see
do we not hear
do we not understand
or comprehend
within us
between us
we have all we need
the bread of Life
with us
breathing
the love of God
every moment
a love
no one can betray
or take away

“The Lord will bless us with Peace”

James 1:1-11; Psalm 119:67-76; Mark 8:1-13

asking in faith
not doubting
we are given
all we need
no miraculous sign needed
just a love
and grace
given freely
knowing
that though we pass away
as the flower
in the field
our soul lives on
in the joy of the Lord

Do you ask God for what you need in faith?
What do you receive?

Sir: 15: 15-20; Ps 119 1-2;4-5; 17-18; 33-34; 1 Cor 2: 6-10; Mt 5: 17-37

open our eyes
instruct us
give us
discernment
that we may see
your wisdom
that saves us
you see all
that is in our hearts
our fears
our desire for good
you place your law
upon us
we trust in you
and follow
your Holy Spirit
that knows
even the depths of God
guide us
to choose life
in all things

Have your eyes seen?
Have your ears heard?
What do you choose?

Mark 8:1-10

moved
to pity
the crowds
are fed
by the blessing
of One who
would see
the hunger
among us
and respond
knowing
that within
our midst
is enough
if only
it would be
shared

How have  you received God’s blessing?
How do you share it?

1Kings 11:29-32,12:19; Psalm 81:10-15; Mark 7:31-37

“Be opened”
to God’s healing touch
upon your ears
your mouth
and your hardened heart
to hear His voice
of love
guiding you
in new ways
of Being
away from hatred
weapons
and war
to kindness
generosity
and peace

What does kindness, generosity and peace look like?
How do we create it?
