Eph 6:10-20; Psalm 144:1-10; Luke 13:31-35

what armor
but God
would protect us
from some
fashioned evil
knowing
what may come
we prepare
our hearts
and mind
shielding
from what may
destroy us
we put all
our trust
in God
and God’s mercy
singing
and chanting
blessing
the power
that saves

In what do you put your trust?

Ephesians 2:19-22; Psalm 19; Luke 6:12-16

His word
His message
pours out
to all the earth
drawing us
all together
into the
dwelling place
of God
in the Spirit
we are no longer strangers
no longer divided
we are
a family
of love
in Christ

Do you feel drawn into Christ’s love?

Ephesians 5:21-33; Psalm 128:1-5; Luke 13:18-21

seed planted
yeast
folded in
we surrender
to the power
of new life
within us
growing
yielding
to a promised
heaven
already here
waiting
for our consent
reclaiming
what is lost
through
the world’s deceptions
we begin again
in the Light
of Truth

Do you believe in the power of the mustard seed?

Ephesians 4:32-58; Psalm 1:1-6; Luke 13:10-17

set free
of infirmity
we live
in the Spirit
of God
moving
with kindness
compassion
and forgiveness
not held down
by immorality
impurity
greed
or believing
empty arguments
but embracing
the Light of Truth-
firmly planted
like a tree
near running water
we bear fruit
in due season
rejoicing
in our freedom

Do you consent to healing and freedom?

Exodus 22: 20-16; Psalm 18: 2-51; Thess 1: 5-10; Mt. 22: 34-40

our whole heart
our whole soul
our whole mind
in love
with God
living
and breathing
in God’s
strength
we love
one another
from this wellspring
showing justice
and mercy
and compassion
as we
have been
shown

Do love God with your whole heart, your whole soul, your whole mind?
Do you love your neighbor as yourself?
Do you show justice and mercy?

Hebrew 4:12-16; Psalm 19:8-15; Mark 2:13-17

called
to follow
the one
who knows
how to live
without sin
no moment
separate
from God
always able
to hear
the Holy Spirit’s
word
living
and effective
sharper than
any two-edged sword
penetrating
even between
soul and spirit
discerning
reflections
and thoughts
of the heart
guiding us
through
the noise of temptations
to hear
the voice
of God

Who do you follow?

Luke 12:25-59

wanting
to do good
we do not
as something
wars within us
yet we are called
to see
in this moment
a wisdom
and knowledge
kindness
and compassion
a goodness
we come to know as
the will of God
written upon
our hearts
it is our delight
as it frees us
and saves us
to do the good
we long to do
in God’s love

“Why do you not know how to interpret the present time?”
Are you willing to do good but do not?
What sets you free?

Ephesians 3:14-21; Psalm 33:1-5,11-12,18-9; Luke 12:49:53

strengthened
with power
through
His Spirit
within
our inner self
our hearts
are designed
for God’s justice
goodness
and hope
in kindness
we are ablaze
in the autumn glory
of God’s love
even as we
experience
harsh divisions
we hope
in his healing
as we send roots
deeply
into Christ’s love
where
we imagine
the unimaginable

How do we heal our divisions?

Ephesians 3:2-12; Isaiah 12:2-6; Luke 12:39-48

awake
we see
God’s coming
Spirit’s
ever present
in Christ’s
healing power
strengthening us
encouraging us
moment
to moment
with joy
we draw water
from the springs
of salvation
our hearts
become full of song
gratitude
and praise

Are you awake to God’s presence?

Ephesians 2:12-22; Psalm 85:9-14; Luke 12:35-38

no longer
strangers
we are being
built together
into a dwelling place
of God
in the Spirit
where kindness
and Truth
shall meet
and peace
shall reign
among the people
serving only

God’s justice
God’s love of all

How do you experience God’s love of all?
How do you experience God’s justice?
