Jeremiah 11:18-20; Psalm 7:2-3,9-12; John 7:40-53

blinded
by preconceptions
and want
of power
we become
divided
and seek
vengeance
yet the searcher
of mind
and heart
and soul
reveals
a Truth
beyond
our knowing
even as it lives
within
and around us
challenging
and shaping us
putting an end
to malice
and returning us
to Love

Have you been blinded by preconceptions?
What does the Holy Spirit—the searcher of mind and heart and soul reveal to you?

Wisdom 2:1-11; Psalm 34:17-23; John 7:1-2, 10-30

in our
broken-heartedness
we turn
to God’s promise
of Presence
and comfort
knowing
our Source
of Peace
is deeper
than the world
can give
embracing
the Silence
that leads us
away from the chaos
of the world
to the place
where our tears
are dried
and Life begins
anew

Do you wait in the patience of silence?
Is God close to you in your broken-heartedness?

Solemnity of Saint Joseph
2Samuel 7: 4-16; Psalm 89: 2-5; 27 and 29; Matthew 1: 16-24

through her
the Holy Spirit
brought life-
she followed

to Him
the Holy Spirit
brought life-
He followed

through Him
the Holy Spirit
brings us life-
we follow

How do you follow?

Isaiah 49:8-18; Psalm 1458-18; John 5:17-30

calling
to the Lord
from famine
darkness
and thirst
we see a Light
that speaks
to our courage
and strength
to rise up
and live
within
God’s kindness
mercy
and compassion
quelling anger
with patience
and opening
our eyes
to God’s holy works
and the sacredness
that lives
and breathes
within
and among us

What do you hear when you call out to God?

Ez 47: 1-9, 12; Psalm 46: 2-3, 5-6, 8-9; John 5: 1-16

in our affliction
He calls our name
reaching into
the heart
and mind
and soul
of us

He asks
if we want to be well
and in a moment
we are changed
knowing we have met
the healing waters
of God’s love

being seen
being heard
by the source
of all love
and Truth
we can only answer
yes

healed
by his word within us
we stand
and walk
and follow

Do you want to be well?
Do you stand, take up your mat, and follow God’s love?

Isaiah 65:17-21; Psalm 30:2-13; John 4:43-54

embracing
God’s promise
of joy
and delight
the sound
of song
and the end
of weeping
we seek
and follow
the Light
of Christ
as a path
of healing
raising us
from a culture
of death
to one of new life

Do you see the Light of Christ?
How do you follow?

Samuel 16: 1-13; Psalm 23, 1-6; Eph 5: 8-14; John 9: 1-41

not as a human sees
but as God
beyond
appearance
into the heart
with the Lord
our shepherd
we shall
not want
and our eyes
shall be opened
to see
beyond
the law
beyond
the Sabbath
beyond
the ritual
to the Truth
the light
awakening us
from sleep
as we pass
from death
to life

Has Jesus healed your vision?
Do you see with God’s light?

Hosea 6: 1-6; Psalm 5: 3-21; Luke 18: 9-14

standing
in the margins
knowing our frailty
and sin
we ask
for mercy
and
a God of love
hears us-
our soul
once hardened
and dry
is refreshed
with rain
its darkness
flooded
with light
we live
in the grace
of God’s compassion

How do you experience God’s mercy?
How do you experience God’s love?

Hosea 13: 2-10; Psalm 81: 6-17; Mark 12: 28-34

spirit upon us
like the dewfall
we hear
love God first
with all
your heart
and mind
and soul
let no strange God
come among you
and take the love

of yourself
and neighbor from you
forgive
and let love
blossom
as freely
as the lilies
casting
as wide
a fragrance
as the cedars
and splendor
of the olive branch

Has a strange God come among you to take the love yourself and your neighbor?

Jeremiah 7:23-28; Psalm 95:1-9; Luke 11:14-23

today
we hear
His voice
and open
our hearts
singing joyfully
as we know
who we are
in the undivided
love of God
treasuring
the words
of the God
and the healing touch
of Christ
living always
in God’s presence
in our heartbeat
and breath

Do you open your mind to God’s voice?
What do you hear?
