Matthew 5:20-26

letting go
of all anger
and judgment
we are
reconciled
and set
each other free
for a greater love
of God
source
of all life
who sets to seed
softens with showers
nurtures
and harvests
a goodness
to be shared
by all

How can we set each other free?

2Cor 3:4-11; Psalm 99:5-9; Matthew 5:17-19

embracing
the Spirit
of the law
we enter
a love
that fulfills
all promises
nothing
is beyond
its reach
where forgiveness
and mercy live
and all hope
resides

Do you live by the spirit of God’s law?

Matthew 5:13-16

a light
that shines
within
drawn out
to meet another
drawn out
to meet
our God
we are guided
by this
our prayers
for love
and healing
are answered
we provide
each other
with sustenance
creating
a culture
of Life
from a
culture of death
we are
the salt
of the earth

Are you guided by your inner light?
Where does it lead you?

2 Cor 1:1-7; Psalm 34:2-9; Matthew 5:1-12

encouraged
in every way
by the Holy Spirit
we taste
and see
the goodness
of the Lord
in our poverty
our mourning
our meekness
and hunger
for peace
and righteousness
we are shown
a mercy
that clears our mind
and heart
to see
we become
radiant with joy

How are you encouraged by the Holy Spirit?

Exodus 24:3-8; Ps 116: 12-13, 15-18; Hebrews 9:11-15; Mark 14: 12-16, 22-26

beyond our means
to see
precious death
His life
His body
His pulsing
blood
poured out
calls us
to a living God
calls us
to Life
cleansing our conscience
from dead works
to worship
the living God
passing into
the sanctuary
of His love
His truth
that we may know
the new covenant
living in us
beating
in our hearts
His blood
our blood
we are
God’s own

Can you feel God’s life within you?
Do you accept God’s new covenant in your heart?
Do you take care of your life?

Tb 12:1, 5-15; 26; Tobit 13:2, 6-8; Mark 12:38-44

reaching out
from a broken heart
we hear
to give thanks
and praise
for all our blessings
seeing all as a gift
and to sing with a given joy
praying
fasting
and giving alms
not from our surplus
but all we have
seeking only goodness
in God’s love and mercy

Do these words bring consolation?

Tobit 11:5-17; Psalm 146:1-0; Mark 12:35-37

our sight
returned
we are freed
after years
of blindness
suffering
and pain
by one who comes
into our life
who knows
our need
for healing
and touches us
bringing Light

full of gratitude
we praise
the One
who is the source
of our blessing
and the one
who brings it

How have you been healed?
Who brought this blessing to you?

Tobit 6:10-11;8:4-9; Psalm 128:1-5; Mark 12:28-34

drawing near
to God
we know
we are to love
with all
our heart
our soul
and mind
and strength
loving God
ourselves
and our neighbor
praying
in thankfulness
and praying
for the courage
to live
His love
each day

Where do you find the courage to love each day?

Tobit 3:1-11,16-17; Psalm 25:2-9; Mark 12:18-27

our hearts
cry out
to God
in our distress
whom we trust
to guide us
to Truth
justice
compassion
and kindness

no longer misled
we see
beyond our mask
and pretense
to the face
of the living God
beholding a power
that challenges
all that we thought
we knew
and are healed
by mercy and love

Are you challenged by God’s mercy and love?

Memorial of St. Justin
Tb 2:9-14; Psalm 112: 1-9; Mark 12:18-17

pressed
by the needs
of the world
we become
short-sighted
and short-tempered
until
touched by the Spirit
we relinquish ourselves
into a greater
knowing
a greater
wisdom
and embrace
God’s love
and peace
as our guide

Do you feel the pressure of the world’s needs?
How do you respond?
