Mark 10:13-16

in fear
we come
as a child
seeking comfort
and find instead
a love
that seeks only
our good
kind
and compassionate
we live in a presence
of beauty
and truth
ever grateful
for this blessing
of wonder
and awe
we release our life
to God’s grace

Do you approach God with fear?
Does it turn into compassionate love?

James 5:9-15; Psalm 103:1-12; Mark 10:1-12

seeing the purpose
of God

saying yes
when we mean yes
and no
when we mean no
we follow
the way
of Truth
arising
from our inner Being
one with God
and All that is
we know mercy
and kindness
and love
and act
from this Holy place

Do you say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no?
Do you see the purpose of God?

James 5:1-6; Psalm 49:14-20; Mark 9:41-50

our wealth
is nothing
in the eyes
of One
who only
sees
our love
and goodness–
trusting in
our possessions
we lose our way–
trusting
in God
we find it
and give
ourselves
to Life
to our children
and to those
in need

Do you give yourself to God’s Love?

James 4:13-17; Psalm 49:2-3,6-11; Mark 9:38-40

having no idea
what tomorrow
will bring
we live in

this one
moment
a gift
that no money
can buy
or redeem
given
for love
of God
and one
another
we give thanks
and cherish
All
doing
what is right
in His name

Do you appreciate the gift of this moment?
How do you share God’s love?

Feast of the Chair of St. Peter
1Peter 5:1-4; Psalm 23:1-6; Matthew 16:13-19

we come
to the church
of mercy
and dwell
within its house
tasting
the goodness
of God
we are rested
and refreshed
goodness
and kindness
are shown to us
we willingly
and eagerly
serve
the love
we have found here
in this church
of mercy
where all are welcome

Where is your church?
On what rock is it built?
Have you found the church of mercy?

James 3:13-18; Psalm 19:8-15; Mark 9:14-29

through prayer
we let go
of jealousy
and selfish ambition
where disorder lives
and enter
the wisdom
of God
where
there is peace
and mercy
gentleness
sincerity
and constant
love
healing us
and giving
joy
to our hearts

Have you let go of jealousy and selfish ambition?
Have you entered the peace of God?

Samuel 26:2, 7-9, 12-15, 22-23, Ps 102: 1-4, 8, 10, 12-13; 1 Cor 15:45-49, Luke 6: 27-38

bless the Lord
my soul
for you have
turned
our hearts
to love
even our enemies
fall within
love’s power
saved from the sword
we come
to know
you mercy
your spirit
in us
we give
in your infinite
measure
giving up
judgment
for compassion
knowing
nothing essential
can be taken
from us
we give
our cloak
our cheek
our Life

Do you love your enemy?
Do you pray for those who maltreat you?
What is your measure?

 Mark 9:2-13

transfigured
we see something
new
something
other
a Glory
in our Being
not seen
in the day to day
but only with eyes
willing
to go
to the mountaintop
to hear God’s voice
to see beyond
suffering
to see beyond
death
with a faith
in the invisible love
from where
all things come

Do you allow yourself to see?
What do you see?

Mark 8:34-9:1

what self
denied
what life
is lost
what cross
taken up
who do we
follow
when the nation
confounds
the name
of Him
who came
to save
what is the design
of God’s heart
as we are called
to a life
that is true
and good

“What profit is there for one to gain the whole world and forfeits his soul?

James 2:1-9; Psalm 34: 2-7; Mark 8: 27-33

hearing
the cry of the poor
we reach out

through God’s love
with no partiality
knowing our own poverty
and need
we see

our neighbor
as ourself

As He asks
“who do you say I am”
we say

“love”
even as we recoil
from its suffering
we turn
and trust in God’s knowing
not our own

Who do you say He is?
Do you hear the cry of the poor?
Who are the poor?
