Acts 8:26-40; Psalm 66:8-20; John 6:44-51

in stillness
His words
come to us
reminding us
of the Spirit
that guides
relieving the anxiety
of day to day
by providing
what we need
strength
courage
fortitude
and peace
keeping our minds
and hearts fixed
we will not lose our way

Do you allow the stillness to speak?

Acts 8:1b-8; Psalm 66:1-7; John 6:35-40

fearing
what we do not
understand
we silence
and destroy
what would bring
love and healing
and nourish
our souls
until
our eyes
and ears
are opened
by God’s
tremendous
love

Where do you experience God’s tremendous love?
Will you let your eyes and ears be opened?

1Cor 15:1-8; Psalm 19:2-5; John 14:6-14

His word
as justice
goes out
through all
the earth
day pours out
the word to day
and night
to night
imparts knowledge
to all
who would hear
with open minds
and hearts
a glory seen
a love felt
even among the ruins
of war and chaos
a name
who saves us
by calling us
home

What message do you hear pouring out over the earth?
Where is your home?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6:22-29

within
our daily bread

we glimpse
eternity

as He becomes
the bread of life
for our soul’s nourishment
in the Truth
of God’s love
revealed

following
His precepts
meditating on
God’s wondrous deeds
our lives are given
meaning
hope
and love
beyond
what we could ever imagine

What do you see within your daily bread?

Acts 5:27-32; 40-44; Psalm 30: 2-6, 11-13; Rev 5: 11-14; John 21: 1-19

beloved disciples
we know
His voice
raised from death
curses
and hate-
our nets casts forth
alone
in darkness
are fruitless
but in His light
and word
we are filled
we follow
unable to be silent
of the one who
has rescued us
and loved us
we risk all
we give all
by holy fires
we are fed
forgiven for denials
we love
and love
and love
feeding
tending
caring
forgiving
even unto death-
our mourning is
changed to dancing
while all creation
praises His love

Do you hear God’s voice in the stranger?
Do you forgive ourselves and turn to love?
Do you praise God at all times?

Acts 6:1-7; Psalm 33:1-2,4-5; 18-19; John 6:16-21

speaking
to our fears
He guides us to safe harbor
this One
who knows
who we are
lost
and alone
He shows us
a new way
far from the grief
and sorrow
of loss
to a place
of enduring love
that depends on no thing
but God’s love

Do you let God show the way?

Acts 5:34-42; Psalm 27:1-4,13-14; John 6:1-15

sharing
what we have
in part
is multiplied
to the whole
where hunger
is met
as impartial light
gives itself
to the darkness
bringing sight
we gaze
on the loveliness
of God
whose only desire
is love
not Kingship
He lives in
the solitude
of Truth

What do you share?

Acts 5:27-33; Psalm 34:2,9,17-20; John 3:31-36

unrationed Spirit
of God’s abundance
we are given
all we need
in a Love
close to

our broken-heartedness
and distress
binding
our wounds
and guiding us
spirit filled
we taste
and see
the goodness
of the Lord
and rejoice

Do you call upon the Holy Spirit?

for those who hear
for those who see
a light has shone
in their darkness
and they are
radiant
with joy

How do you respond to the Light?

Acts: 4: 32-37; Psalm 93: 1-5; John 3: 7-15

what is it
to be born
from above
of Spirit
as a wind
that blows
where it will
we hear its sound
we feel its effects
yet from where
does it come?
what are
these heavenly things
you will
for us
one mind
one heart
no claim of possessions
as our own
there are no needy
among us
as all is shared
and distributed
according to need
from love

What is this love that demands so much good?
